An interesting life you led - getting to what you really wanted to do - which sounds like it was writing music. The story/autobiographical part of your story seemed a bit slow and burdened down - to me - but that's just my opinion. I'd like to have seen dialog, not simply monologue - and also short and long sentences used with perhaps some anecdotes.
I know it's a different type of story and I understand.
I'm assuming you got really busy in the music industry. Good for you.

Thanks for coming along. No not busy in Music industry. Still unpublished. Hope you checked out the links that might have provided more entertainment. Did you read the chapter before about my trip in my new car? There is more coming we are putting up chapters either on Revive Certificates if they qualify or re -promoting for folks who have not seen my stuff before. Not really much op0prtunity for Dialogue in this chapter as I was alone a lot of the time in projection rooms and so on.

Well, good luck in publishing your music, if that's your desire. I've never tried that - and perhaps it's not too easy.

S.,

Wow. Sounds like that could be a really fascinating job. Though I completely understand about watching some movies over and over. My granddaughters ask for the same movies time after time. ugh. I can recite every word! hahaha

Thanks!

Thanks for being first "cab off the rank." Actually each time you view the same movie you will always pick up something you missed before. We watch the same movies over and over we have more than 700 movies and miniseries on DVD, here.

Hello, Geoff.
In keeping true to my word, I'm here to read your latest. I will do my very best to try and keep up, but that's about all I can promise you...

This position began at a time when I was reaching a new peak in my Spiritual life. If it wasn't a peak, well, it was a period in my life when I began to take more notice of things of a spiritual nature. So over a time - although I really enjoyed the time at Macquarie - I had to decide how far I was to go there....There was a time I studied to become an ordained minister at Liberty, University, in Virginia, Geoff.
But...things change...
I quit after two years. 'Nuff said...

However, it was a general opinion among other staff, that he (my manager) did not want to share all the overtime he got from running movies in the theater at night, with some lesser mortal....I suppose that's understandable.
Survival of the fittest, 'ey, mate?

I learned a lot about 'campus culture', or university lifestyle, in my time at Macquarie. The outside world has absolutely no understanding of some of the things that go on in the University realm. Unless of course you have been either a staff member or a student there. We even had our famous "Occupation Of The Vice Chancellor's Office" by the students, in my time there....Oh, you are so right about that, Cobber.
They haven't the slightest idea whatsoever...

On a number of occasions, during my time at Macquarie, there would be material I had to run (on 16mm film) for lectures which, quite strongly conflicted with my newly adopted spiritual position. Some of the "Behavioural Science" material quite seriously went in opposites to my beliefs. I suppose that was good in one way-- at least I had to think about where I stood on a lot of the issues presented. However, only being in the session to run the movies, I couldn't really judge whether current thought, at the time, would agree or disagree with these philosophies. ...Ah, that may be so, but you were hired to do a job, and do a job when hired you must.
Religious preferences aside...

~Dean

Great job of telling the story about your building career as a projectionist. Sounds like you had some conflicts with your beliefs. I love the movie Ben Hur!!

I'm about to leave for work, but will check out your links later this afternoon.

Great job,
Take care,
Rhonda

...how far I was to go there.
He had a fair way to travel...

Paragraph 4 is a little confusing. Not complete sentences.

I can relate to fear of heighs and that would be a job I cant do. Loved the last paragraph and had to laugh at you snoozing

had had a fair way to travel to work from Hurstville, in our Southern suburbs. - (He) had

The Bible Studies were led by a Lance. McClintock and most of the students were equipped with "J B Phillips" Translations of the Bible. - Lance[.]

A nice mixture of your growing career and budding faith. I like the part when you shouted that was what your KJV said too!

Hi Sis thanks for the help on the Uni Chapter I have fixed it and added some more changes. About the had had....it was not necessary there anyway...but in Australia we do use the expression 'had had' at times...when so and so had had some trouble etc. I questined it with my Sis in law a retured Uni lecturer in English as our former PM who she never liked used it and she agreed with his use of same. Even though she doesn't like the man...She is a typical intellectual...LEFTY! Another difference in our "Englishes" we speak. Lord Bless.

Another very good chapter birthday boy. I stopped having birthdays years ago. You should try it. Doctors say they have discovered a pill that will make people age backward. It will be on the market in three years.

The Bible Studies were led by a Lance. McClintock and most of the students were equipped with "J B Phillips" Translations of the Bible. During one of the studies Lance commented on a point he was making saying that the part we were looking at "literally meant" such and such! I forget what passage we were in, but I looked at my KJV translation and shouted...
"Hey, that is exactly what my bible says!" So from that time onward for the rest of the camp, I became known as the "KJV" man!'
This made me smile. I really enjoyed this work overall. It is great, well done and keep on writing as I like your work a lot kindest regards Meia x

Thanks Meia...your Christian...and I believe you may be a Sis in Christ?? Hmm??..Name is the "i" actually a 'j' when spoken? Niece has twins in Poland (she is married to a Pole) and the kids are Maja and Janeck...other way around I know but just guessing...their J's are pronounced as y's. Sorry for the tangent. Appreciate your lovely review. If you look back you might still get some rewards on the previous chapter.

A very well-written chapter on your working life. A change is sometimes as good as a holiday. It is mean of any boss not to tell the new employees about all the benefits they can use.
