This was very detailed and fun account of your past employer. I have worked with a smoker who took her smoke breaks at the most inopportune times. I'm glad you didn't get drafted though. I enjoyed reading this. Gretchen

So glad you picked this up. I had just written to Tom and complained no one was picking these up even though I spent $20 funny money on them! Hope you saw the other one it already had All Time on it I think. My first full-time position in the music shop.

Just did. Enjoyed them both. Gretchen

Hi Geoff, I know I'm not reading this in sequence, but I just want to catch up with your biography. So you're preparing to leave your job for this new opportunity. I think it sounds great. Ulla:)))

Hi Ulla I think this was the job I got after I was redunded out from the air conditioning factory? Or perhaps when I first got into the Government service? I will check and come back stick with me some more excitement coming. Thanks for the lovely review.

This was the chapter about all the smells and celebs that happened meeting Jerry Lewis and serving him and Sandy Shaw the Aussie singer.

Thanks, old mate so this must have been one you missed. I have put up a few more chapters of the autobiography if you missed them. Might still have some phoney on them. Have not seen you in ages!

This was an interesting description of jobs you worked at when you were young and just getting started. I lot of this chapter described a lot of scents or odors. Some not so pleasant. You changed jobs quite a bit. I guess you learn new things by doing that. This is one I failed to read when you posted it before.

Dear Beth, so pleased you have come through here again. I knew there were a lot out there should enjoy these for another look. Hopefully get us over the All Time Best line.

Such an interesting read, true facts and photos. I recognized Jerry Lewis right away. I understand working for a department store. I had three part-time jobs at one time: a men's suit fitter and salesperson, modeling instructor for Barbizon, and makeup artist. Life was interesting. All my life's work has been blessed and now a different path for me as my eyesight is just about gone. Writing has become my new vocation and telling my story to others. Sending you my best today as always,

Thank you for sharing the details of this job with us. It sounds like it was a challenging and demanding place to work. For those of us with any retail experience, we can relate to the customer service and the cliques employees form. You did a good job with the prose, and the piece made for a good read,

It seemed to be an interesting time & read for us here... to be working with customers of all types and a couple of celebrities, well almost it does seem with Jerry Lewis, who I used to laugh my head off at him in all those comedies when I was little, though saw a serious side of him as he used to run the TV weekend telethon for kids to raise money with Muscular Dystrophy, for decades ( had two first cousins (brothers) with that terrible disease)... And unfortunately in your line of work...dealing those customers with unbearable odors & very foul mouths... Wondering if you kept a journal or diary during that time...Otherwise you have an excellent memory.

Hi Sis I worked there for 4.5 years, still remember it all pretty well. The foul mouths and odours were staff members. The 'ambience' man or one of worked upstairs in the Storeroom area. Yes, I was touched to learn, some years ago, of Jerry Lewis's support for Muscular Dystrophy. Good on him. Thanks for the great review. Sorry, no rewards left.

Sorry I see there are still rewards on this post.

What an amazing life you have led. I like the way you talk about your past and what has happened to you in it. Good customer service advice that you learned along your journey. My chemistry model is based on the kids pretending to run a company. Maybe you could give me some good advice to pass along to them.
Take care,
Rhonda

Are you writing about that? Give me a link. Thanks for the great review. I guess the funny money has run out. Maybe still 2 more with rewards on atm.
-
It's in my portfolio called, "Educational Corporate Model". I am currently writing on it. It has two chapters so far. I don't know how to send the link.

Ok Visitors coming soon will look later.

A very well-written story. Each job we have is always the most important at the time and we always deliver our best to serve the customers and impress the bosses. That is the only way to get somewhere in life.

You did a nice job with this. I had a job where I was on my feet all day and when I got home I had to soak them for an hour before I could stand up again. Had a lot of foot problems so I can relate to your problems. Fun photos. How cool, you got to serve Jerry Lewis. I never liked the smell of Brut, way to strong for me.
Yes, we smokers do loose send of smell and our sense of taste. I've cut back considerably, but my sense of smell and taste haven't returned as promised.
