I know this book is pretty much done. I did find some placements for commas or not having commas that came up while reading that seemed to throw off the reading a bit.

"Due to the operation, I was to have, it could not be planned suitably." You should be able to remove the comma after operation and just keep the one after have.

"I could have taken the exam in Hospital, or at home." This comma isn't really needed. It's not a coordinating conjunction in this sentence.

"In the photo of my fourth and final year of high school, I was not too long out of the hospital, from my second operation." The second comma in this sentence can be removed.

"Quite honestly I was not really keen to do those extra years, even had I done the bursary exam and been successful." A comma should be placed after honestly.

"In more recent times there have been various discussions on the history of Ryde High, on Social Networks." A comma can be placed after times and removed after High.

Some of the places you describe sound amazing. It sounds like the tour to Hobart was a pretty special ride, even though nobody really does the tour now. Hopefully one of these days I can take a trip to your country. One of my family members lives down there now when he's not doing charity work in other countries.

Thanks for the review. You are probably right about the commas. A controversial subject as even stupid Grammarly makes mistakes with Commas. Always the difference between US and British English hehe. I forget where you are sorry.
reply by DSchlosser on 20-Jan-2021
I'm in the US in Illinois. Is the grammar in Australia much different than the UK, or do they follow the same standards?
reply by the author on 21-Jan-2021
British and Aussie gramma is much the same. I understand in America it is only teachers who speak the more correct English,
reply by DSchlosser on 21-Jan-2021
I wouldn't say they speak more correct English, really. They teach what we learn, but it's probably more the writers that would speak it more efficiently than the teachers.

This reads beautifully as a memoir! You manage to capture raw emotion incredibly vividly and I love the voice of the narrator! Many thanks for sharing this a well done.

Thanks very much. I need to look you up not sure we have met before. This was written a long time ago but I had to do a recent edit to add something my wife and I were talking about. Be looking for you later. There are rewards in all the chapters if you want to go further or back.

You're welcome! I am very much looking forward to reading more of your work soon. I have three recent poems that you wish to have a look at. Mother's Daughter and In the face of angels are my most recent and still need a few tweaks... In the face of angels is now up for voting so fingers crossed and we will see how it goes.

This is very interesting chapter in your biography. It sounds like you had a lot of musical talent. It was too bad about the hearing problem. Do you still sing and play insturments. I took piano but was never very tood at it. I didn't enjoy practicing and my father didn't allow me to practice when he was home.

Hi, no I quit playing in church nearly 10 years ago, now due to discomfort and nerves probably related to the onset of the deafness. Thanks for coming by. Have a look and see if there are any other chapters you missed there are rewards on them all atm.

Hi Geoff, I'm so glad you have drawn my attention to this. As I'm a fan of yours, and I would have expected to be notified but I haven't. I find that odd. I'm following this with great interest from now on. If not notified I will certainly look out for it. A very interesting part this. Ulla:)))

Hi Ulla, Thanks. It relieves me to know others are not notified. Tom gave me the impression I was the only one whose work was not being notified especially to fans. I had worried you may have been through before and that could be a reason you were not notified. Rewards on all chapters ok go back to the start might be good seeing you are not far in. I have tried a few more book baloons on some of my other stuff and got NOTHING in response and book baloons are not cheap.
    Thanks for coming by.

Sankey,

To have perfect pitch and then lose your hearing must have been heartbreaking for you. I loved your pictures; thanks for the descriptions in your author notes.

.not a bus conductor ok. (LOL)

titbits of discussions about different things concerning our old 'Alma Mater' (add period or colon)

Patricia

It's wonderful that you have a great memories for High School. There told in terrific detail. I did notice two type-o's: trams had ceased in Sydney. where (Where). in the orchestra. Not 'perfect pitching' you need a space after the period. Best of luck with your writing!

Have a great day and God bless.

Again I bet trolley buses in the streets was pretty cool. I can only imagine what The Sound of Music would have been like in person. I won lie, I've never seen the movie but I would definitely go to see it life in person. Do you play any instruments now? Your dad missed out and that's his loss. I love the pictures you put in these.

Thankyou so much for taking the same to go way back. Sound Of Music was a first release of the movie in 1966 instead of the train trip I SHOULD HAVE DONE in retrospect. Glad you like the pics. They will be included in the hard copy of this book.

Very nice! I would like to know more details about your relationship with music, how you felt it, experienced it. Because I definitely don't have perfect pitch and can't really imagine what that's like. Music is such a personal thing and my relationship to it has changed a lot over the years. I used to play the viola, which I was quite terrible at, and now I play the classical guitar which I'm a bit better at, and because of playing it I have become more interested in other kinds of classical music and now have a great interest in anything musical. Thanks again for sharing your story with me, it's fascinating!

Thanks new friend. I miss playing the piano and organ as I did in church for best part of 50 years. If you are brave enough to go right back to the beginning of my biography you will learn about my beginnings in music. Sadly the rewards are all run out now. Sorry we did not meet about 3 months ago as I went through and did a Revive Certificate promotion pretty well of my entire biography. I am getting a lot closer to finalising it and having a go at Self Publishing.I had a middle ear infection that was let go untreated for too long added to a hearing deficiency anyway...now I am Profoundly Deaf on the left side (was that from birth anyway)and Severely Deaf on the right and for a former musician it really gets my goat I can't do all I used to.Every day I become more thankful I stuck with FS after very nearly pulling the plug. There is a whole lot about FS I do not like, but fortunately, that is outweighed by a lot that I do like, especially all the new friends I have made since I rejoined for another 2 years not all that long ago. Long story. Might fan ya so we can keep in touch.

Thanks, Barbara, just hoping I can get Self-published ok. I think I mentioned I will have a go with some of my smaller works first.
