Pierre-Auguste Renoir was the last of the Impressionists to be drawn into printmaking, turning to the medium when he was almost fifty years old. Though he was extremely skilled as an etcher and lithographer, he spent the majority of his career establishing himself as a painter. One of my personal favorites of his is "Le Chapeau Epingle", or "Hat Pin", done around 1824, I think.
Anyhow, well done, and best of luck to you in the contest.

Hi dear Dean, Although Renoir was not born until 1841 and died in 1912 or 19 I think, I agree that I love his later work as an impressionist. He and Claude Monet were good friends and painted together often. Can you imagine what a session that would have been. Thank you for your wonderful comments as usual. :-)

Oh boy, that sure would have been a doozy, LOL!
It was my pleasure, and you're very welcome, anon. :}

I love the Impressionist period and Renoir is one of my favorite. This short poem contest is a nice tribute to him. The picture presents it very well.

Gorgeous artwork choice - your words are perfect for the offering. Am always amazed when so few words tell an entire story. My best wishes for luck in this contest. AT=

Thank you, it is a challenge to say what you want in 8 syllables. I appreciate your review. :-)

A fitting tribute to a phenomenal artist-love the portrait.
A worthy 2-4-2 entry in conformance to the writing prompt.
I must confess, I am not a fan of the brief writing formats.

You have met the contest requirements well with a spot on syllable count. This is an excellent approach to the prompt - inventive and refreshing. I wish you all the best in the voting and thank you so much for sharing this with me.

I do like classical art, but never realised how beautiful it was, till I went to Florence and San Sepulchro in Italy and saw the Italian masters. You have captured the essence of your favourite artist in your poem. Well chosen words and great picture. Good luck in the contest. Faye

Thanks Faye, when the contest is over I have a few more to post. He is, as you said, a master.

good pairing of artwork and poem, which is in good 2/4/2 syllable count for this contest
I prefer people not use all caps when posting
the form is too short for you to say anything about this guy other than to identify him - so not much to say in a review
