Great visual invitation to the fair. Oh men! There is a joke about "the farmer's daughter" that somehow I forgot. It could be applicable here. Best wishes.

oh my goodness. How did this poem not win the contest. So close to a win. The wording of the poem is terrific -so clever and, of course, the photo just spoke to all the guys, I'm sure. Terrific, Dean.

Another second, Dean. Must be annoying. At least when I get pipped, it's never close enough to tantalise. A little earner like that saves hours of typing leaving more time for writing. I loved this one even before I read the humorous banter that had Bessie getting you interested. In fact, your Bessie's got great hair, and what a lovely hat. Well done on a great and entertaining entry.

What a perfect picture to go with a perfectly adorable 5-7-5 about county fairs! It seems to be the season for both county fairs and state fairs. Fun times! Good job.

I agree with you about y'all as one syllable, but I say goin go/in with two syllables, which puts that line at 8 syllables
