Hi Shari, what a clever and sarcastic little senryu. It's almost a spoof of the romantic and mystical. Many lovers and religions revere the moon, but you manage to turn the poetic and romanticized on its bum. Very funny little write.

A unique imagery is portrayed in the first two verses.

"God's mooning us"-- clever phrasing. We aren't the brightest creatures alive, so maybe we do deserve to be scorned by Him.
