HA! Double-whammied. What should we do about those difficult folks we must deal with on a constant basis? Hmmm...Yep. Nothing. Well, then too, there is prayer, chanting...
Thanks for sharing:)

Start treating Mom like an idiot. LOL Oh, our kids did that during the teenage stage. :-) We're just getting back.
-
Lol! Yep. Teens and younger think older folks are lost or dumb. It's fun to show them...NOT!
Peace,
Mike

Humour her. It's ONLY twice a month for cryin' out loud! LOL I love my Mum dearly and we catch up around 3 or 4 times a month but I too suffer the odd lecture.
Bringing up kids these days is NOT friggin well like it was when she did it and as gentle as she appears to be with her arguement...I still feel as though I'm a kid getting some kind of dressing down or "Tsk tsk, Mother knows best" session.
I could relate to this one, my friend. Choice!
Cheers P

My Mom is long gone, and I have to admit, she never did this. But I'm the guilty party with my children telling them not to spend so much, how to raise my grandchildren, etc. Fortunately, they just ignore me. LOL
-
I'm sure they love you dearly and you both respect boundaries.
I apologise for getting it misconstrued.
I didn't realise it was the other way round with YOU as the Mother.
I'm SURE you don't lecture them endlessly, it's ONLY motherly concern.
That's why I put up with it. I love my Mum to bits and at least it shows she cares.

You didn't misconstrue it. Don't apologize. I was just making a generalization, then realized I was guilty of that! LOL

LOL All good then

"Twice a month": You've chosen the bare minimum a grown
child can deal with this type of mother
without going postal.
"Mother pays a visit": How come Father's know it's better
to call, text, e-mail or twitter.
"Child once more": A woman can have 10 ten children of
her own. A successful career and
good marriage, but some mother's
needy desire crumbles those
achievements with criticism and
judgements. These type of mother's
have to fight for their children's
attention because their children
drain from this type of
relationship.
Once again, you expose the worst and best in tight, emotionally filled words. Great 3-5-3.

Ha. My father and stepmother just left this morning. Fortunately, I got away somewhat unscathed. However, it sounds like it hasn't gone as well for you.

Actually, I'm the guilty party -trying to give advice to my son on how to raise his children. He just ignores me.

That's normal.

I didn't title is senryu because I preferred to make up a title with its own play on words. Glad I brought a smile to your day.

Isn't it amazing how our parents can make us feel like children our entire lives? No matter how successful our jobs or lives may be, they can pull us right back to childhood and all the inadequate feelings we had as teenagers. You nailed it, girl!

Thanks,w.j. I get scolded by my daughter sometimes for trying to put a guilt trip on her. Sigh...

Boy, ain't it the sad, terrible truth?
My own mom never visits. She was traumatized at six years old from being run over by a milk truck which nearly killed her. Now, she's terrified of semi trucks on the highway and will not travel anywhere when highway driving is involved.
Still, I talk to her regularly on the telephone, and she can get the same sorts of messages across there just as easily, LOL.
Sad, but no less true, Spit!

Wow! Hope your mother lives in the country, but I admit to being leery when it comes to the interstate. Don't tell her about Skype or you'll get the body language too!
-
Heh-heh, don't worry, Shari, I won't. LOL...

I'm so glad that me and my mom are able to talk like adults now but she's still my mom. LOL. I just remind her that I'm going to pick her nursing home. Yeah, I'm that kid. LOL. Great job with this and remember it's only two days a month
