I have to admit I haven't seen the movie. From your description, it seems more of a comedy except for the coworkers' deaths. You did a great job telling of the really bad things that made it unrealistic--more like a 3 stooges movie. I imagine all those 'things' were insignificant because of the big star names Redford & Dunaway. Thanks for sharing. I know I will never see this movie, but haven't missed anything, really.
Respectfully, Jan

Thanks Jan. It's not that bad a movie as long as one does not think too deeply. :) And Robert Redford is young... :)

I love your opening - you're an insightful observer of wives and other women and human nature in general :-)
good humor too
I'm laughing a lot as I read your synopsis of the movie plot along with your snide asides LOL
Your punch line is too much - I got more than one chuckle, my friend :-) Brooke

A fun movie review. Hollywood really asks us to suspend belief. Like when the hero and heroine stop to make love while being chased by barbarians or cannibals. And how about all those women held hostage for over a month? Don't they ever have a period? Maybe not, is a time of stress.

Glad you liked it. The thing that stood out as most unbelievable is it took Faye Dunaway so lone to notice how handsome Robert Redford was. I guess brandishing a gun will slow everything down a bit however.JB

I enjoyed this a lot.

There is a movie that I detest for much the same sort of thing.

Harrison Ford / Brad Pitt starrer 'The Devil's Own' Pitt is IRA terrorist goes to New York to but stinger missiles to deafeat the british helicopters?!?WHAT?
Whilst in NY he gets fords family beat up and kills his best friend but Ford says that's okay I understand your struggle!?!WHAT?
Oh and Pitt was going to sail all the way back from NY to Northern Ireland with the missiles on his own in a fishing trawler!?! WHAT?

I am sure there are many more.

As always your piece was well written and very humorous.
Thanks.

Thanks! I agree, there are many movies that take liberties with our common sense. Forgivable in clear fantasy, but reproachable in more normal settings. Dennis

This did make me smile. I think your next piece should be places I never want to stay or people I do not want as friends or work for on television. For example, Cabot cove and midsummer lol. Thank you for sharing.

Hahahahahaha! I have always enjoyed the way you tell your stories mate. This one is another very clever write. The fact that most women can see through the BS that some blokes say is cool. You have portrayed it beautifully. Cheers Fez

Thanks for the chuckle. That movie sounded like it didn't have anything realistic in it at all. Glad you didn't wait time on it . I have often wondered why people in books never need the bathroom.
Thanks again for the smiles: ) Anita

because he's CIA silly - of COURSE he'd have a gun ... doubting Thomas that you are! And Robert Redford can tie me to MY loo any day of the week!

when women will give more creditability (credibility)

But I must 'fess to sympathy with you - I did the same thing last night with some Nicole Kidman/George Clooney whose name I couldn't remember ... where the terrorist walks right through the NY airport security ... huh? no one had a PHOTO???

Just shows what fine brains we have, hmm? Should we possibly put them to better use?? ya think?

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

big smiles :)S

I'm with you on the better use of brains and time...but even so, the mind has got to have recess now and then...as to the spelling of creditability...the dictionary has it spelled both ways...I looked it up when I was writing this bit as it didn't look right to me...and I just knew some woman was going to say RR can carjack, etc. me anytime...you did not surprise or disappoint...thanks for reviewing...Dennis

You did leave me with a smile with this one.

I don't know a woman on the planet who would let her husband go to bed without a grilling if he arrived at her front door as this character did.

You are right, too much reality does kill the entertainment buzz of many movies. Here is my solution; when I see something on the screen that doesn't work for me, I just re-write the script in my head and go on watching contentedly. Who says that we have to be limited by the screenwriter's vision. LOL

Hugs, d

Good idea and there's plenty of movies to work this method on. :) Thanks, Dennis

I did get a few chuckle out of this well written, humorous piece. I've seen the movie you speak of, but have never thought about it in the perspective you use. Your points are well taken, my friend.

Always with respect,
