Hi GW,

War is hell, and sadly it doesn't matter what country. Innocents die for the greed of power and wealth. In the process families are shattered. Nothing about this is right or fair.

Will it ever stop - no, I think not.

This is a beautiful write. Well done.

Cheers & Blessings
Keep Smilin'.... Jax (*-*)

After reading this, I went into the living room where my husband was, and just simply gave him a big hug, and told him thank you. He's a retired Vet, and reading this poem made me take a moment to just think about those war's and how so many people lost there lives, while fighting for this country. Thank you so much for sharing!

The awful tragedy of war and death. The untold stories of so many lives lost and sacrificed has been gracefully captured in this thought provoking tale. Very inspiring and creative. Well done.

Till the last amen

WW1 1914 "I leave this Note" Nothing captures and holds my attention than tales from the World Wars. They fascinate me and speak volumes about what went on, a hundred years ago. Celebrations are on at the moment, commemorating that period in our history. Well done.

GW,

War is a topic that gives me chills. Let me say that you did a wonderful job with it. I enjoyed it and like the way you expressed your feelings and your insight.

Usually I will dock a star for three problems but I chose not to do that here. The reason is because you duplicated one mistake.

He(,s) looking back and
**He's

He(,s) looking back and seems to say you
**He's

Mothers around the world do cry and pray(,) for soldiers
**delete this comma so that the sentence will flow

Everything else was clean. Comprehensible and very nicely written.

Your feelings are well expressed.

I look forward to seeing you again.

Love you,

Oatmeal

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

A very moving poem written from both side of the fields so wet fired and grey.
An Emotional, heartfelt and tender piece expressing the horrors of war in a very personal way.

Well done.

Your poem sings a sad song, poet. However, it is real and the feeling of facing eleven inches of cold steel is a moment to forget. Blessings to you.

How logical, how godly is it for one person to kill another person?? Yet, here we have it. Two very similar men. yet, they're brainwashed into believing that each must die.

Fast-forward to the present...Asking the question that I did reg. how right it is for two people to try and kill each other - that question though still important, is considered hardly at all in these times. In wars between nations, in gang wars - human decency is quickly fading away! I keep wondering how much longer this world will be around...

Nuclear power is so easily had and it's been available for decades!! But I fear that maybe before very long...Something VERY big will occur...!

Thanks for sharing this!

Mike

Great poem, written amplifying the horrors of war, it would seem to be set in the WW1 when war in the trenches was at its most obscene, we can speculate on the horror of that! Articulate, descriptively expressive, vivid imagery, a really well written poem, as an ode to war, well done, blessings, Roy

His -- he's
You captured the horrors of war and the futility and the loss and the death and the anguish.
We are all the same. That is the travesty of war. We all want the same things... home, family, freedom, love.
But if we are to fight, let's fight to win.
Excellent.
