You have put it so beautifully my friend. Those are the words I think we were all looking for today. For you and I, we grew up and have had him making us laugh since we were very young, all of our lives really. Such a heart he had when he could play a dramatic role with the same skill. This piece brought a lot of comfort to me and I know it will to many. Well done. mikey

I'm glad to have this opportunity to cry with another Robin Williams fan. I am so saddened by the death of this comedic genius. Even worse is the thought that he was so depressed he didn't know how to deal with it. Imagine how painful it must be to pretend to see life as hillarious and make everyone around you laugh, while you die inside! Dear man! It almost makes me weep.
You've written a nice tribute to his memory. I will mourn him as much as I would a friend. Well done, Sankey.

Sigh! So sad! I think I'll check Netflix for some of his stand-up comedy. The world has lost a great artist.

Robin Williams was one of my favorite actors and a top comedian. I can't tell you how hard I would laugh at/with him on stage. It's hard to believe someone so funny suffered with depression. God has a reason I'm sure.

Well done my friend. John

Thanks John. I was a bit disappointed in him towards the end I thought some of the language and stuff I liked the funny Robin better.

I had to leave the site and dash over to Bing to see it the subtitle was right before I could read this. I was in complete shock to hear of this horrible loss! I have been an avid fan of Robin Williams since his 1978 appearance at the Roxy (on HBO) - his bit with John Ritter was comedy genius! I have never seen another comedian (and believe me, I have seen many) who could come close to him for pure "thinking on his feet, far outside the box, rapid fire delivery" ingenuity. He will be missed and mourned by me. :-(

Nicely done tribute :-)

I just read about this online. What a talent. Amazing that underneath that comic mask was darkness inside. While I'm glad that you wrote this, I can't in all honesty give you a five. "what a lark" and "big shoes to fit" are close, if not clichés.

It's so weird to see those dates (birth to death) next to his picture. His death is devastating and so incredibly sad. If only he knew how loved he was. A lovely poem you have written as a tribute to a wonderful man.

They say the funny ones are the ones who need help. So sorry to read about this. He was definitely a great character and funny to boot. I will have to look at the news. I am always saddened when I hear of someone dying before their time. thanks so much for sharing.

I just read another poem about Robin Williams. He was quite a talent. I haven't seem much of his work, but loved him in "Mrs. Doubtfire." Excellent rhyme and flow in your tribute. "Qurks and impressions" are good words to describe his talents. He will be missed. judi
