This poem can apply to so many who have lost Dear ones, or those who had someone for a time & now they have changed..Congratulations on this poem, it was well deserved.& admire the picture chosen.
I never knew my grandparents, all that much, except for a grandpa that died, when I was four...Though, still remember him somewhat & his kindness, always there for his family...My parents passed in 1996 & 97...And, yes, they are still in my thoughts daily & still feel their strength still through so much.....Even though, I had some trying years being raised by them, I still have quite a few nice memories about them both....
Thanks for sharing, Always There....Your fan, Caressa

Congratulations on you shared first place finish, Debra. Your sedoka, Always There is truly lovely.
I really enjoyed that ethereal feel you lent to this piece. It's like walking from a vibrant, breathing life, into the arms of a loved one waiting just across that threshold of death's door.
Wonderfully done!

This is a most loving tribute to your Nanna. I, too, have someone who calls me Nanna and I hope I live up to my grandson's expectations just as your Nanna continues to live up to yours. Heart warming poem.

I love the picture. I love the poem. I had a grandmother who could make me feel good when I was down. The first part of your poem shows you did to. But your grandmother died like my grandmother did. I still have sweet dreams of her like you do. A person dies, but your love for them never does. Great work. Good luck in the contest.

Author: I'm beginning to really appreciate these sedoka poems. Somewhat like a haiku/senyru, they pack in much information and feelings within a small poem without having to rhyme it. This one is well written and I enjoyed the read. Good luck in the contest. livelylinda

I really enjoyed this well written Sedoka. It reminded me of the special connection my daughter had with her grandmother. Though she's been gone many years my daughter still feels the bond. Lovely writing. Good luck.

You were always there for me. . .
Now, you wait for me. . .
very nicely paired/juxtaposed images. The past -vs- the new order. Emotion packed and well paired stanzas

A well written sedoka and beautiful tribute to your Nanna. I love how you express that even though she is no longer here in this physical realm, she's still a very real part of your life. You are blessed to have had such a wonderful relationship with her. Nicely done.
