Good nonet. The syllable count is accurate. The story it tells is clear and understandable. My only question would be why you are encouraging a mouse to move into your home.

The thoughts running through the mind of a mouse, as he nears cheese--your well-penned nonet gives great insight as to what goes on when this tiny creature begins his nocturnal quest.
They often come out at night, when all's quiet.

This is A WONDERFUL WONDERFUL POEM AND A BRILLIANT NONET FOR THIS CONTEST, but i'm sorry to say that quiet of night is four syllables, you will be disqualified if you don't alter it, you should still have time, good luck.

This little tale of how you are a softy for the little mouse is a cute entry for the nonet contest - I'd be leaving a trap!
One thing bothers me a bit - you use simple language but still omit articles e.g. at (the) back door
I know it's done to get the syllable count correct, but it doesn't feel right.
