It would be really frightening to go under the knife and know virtually everything that is happening. It's easy to see you've had some very stressful times over the years. I hope things are going well for you now.

Another panoramic rendition of sundry disorders--you've handled yourself with admirable grace and patience amidst great frustration and painful procedures. Gripping saga!

Thanks Ulla, a repeat with more editing and the added letter/s I felt would be of interest to my regular readers and new folks.

You have certainly had a lot of unusual medical problems. I've heard of babies have the water on the brain but not in adults. I guess if it is severe the babies don't survive. I thought it was funny about you not liking the vegetarian diet. I was born allergic to meat and always threw when I ate it. Later in life I became Adventist so I love the meatless diet. I didn't realize floaters were a sign of a detached retina. I had a floater for while that kind of drove me nuts but it went away. Health issues interest me so I enjoy reading this.

Thanks Beth so glad so many of my regulars might have missed these first time around they probably came out after you disappeared all that time. I did not know you were SDA. Have you seen Hacksaw Ridge? A true story about an SDA guy that refused to carry weapons in the WW11 he was a Medoc who saved a lot of his fellow soldiers.

Yes, I did see that movie. In fact I met the man. He lived not far from us on Lookout Mountain which is in here in Chattanooga.
-
Wow! A terrific movie and to meet the man!

Wow, what a lot of serious health issues you have faced. I'm happy you found out about them in time to get treatment--esp the detached retina. You did a great job recounting the events and all of the preparations beforehand. I wish you better health in the future.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

You've certainly been through a lot in your time, Geoffrey. It sounds as though the medical history as disclosed in this lengthy post might be more complete than the one on your doctor's files. It's interesting how things work out in the end.

Thanks mate, I had hoped you would catch this. See the next chapter as well. The older letter's writer is long gone and the later chapter letter had a kind of provision to prevent sharing so I just took some of it that was all new to me to share.

Been through a lot, that's putting things mildly. Well described and interesting. Good thing the doctors were able to resolve this.

Yeah well actually there was more but I write about it over in the Rambles I think. I was planning on adding more as an addendum but someone (maybe you??) said if we kept adding stuff we would never get the book finished. Thanks.

Good land of living - all that in one person - in one lifetime. I sympathize with all of this - I feel reasonably healthy (even with my various surgeries and pain) after reading what you've gone through. I trust there is some light at the end of the tunnel for you.

thank you for sharing your story. I was tested for Sleep Apnea last year, and they found that I only stopped breathing while I was dreaming. Since it wouldn't be a good thing to keep me from dreaming, they told me nothing could be done about my sleep problems. Thankfully, I don't work full time anymore, and it really doesn't matter if I get a good night's sleep.

This is very interesting what you have penned. You used very good descriptive wording and very good imagery with your wording and the picture. It is amazing going through all that and still doing good. I am thankful that you are ok. Blessings, Teri
