Awesome picture by It Is Written and an awesome poem. My granddaughter's biological father will never get it either. What a marvelous girl he's missing out on. She's 11 and smarter than the average bear, and beautiful to boot. How sad he ran out on her when she was born, how sad he will never know what a terrific person his daughter is. You put this into just the right words. Thanks for sharing.

This is a beautiful poem that the author has created with this piece of writing. I hope to fulfill that promise and become a father some day too. My fiance had a miscarriage, but we will try again.

Thanks, Tomes. I wish you and your fiance lots of love and baby sprinkles. (It seems to work on the pregnancy forum I frequent!) I miss your writings. Have you heard back from your submissions? I found out the BBC contest results have been pushed back to September. So, I am trying to enter yet another one.

I have had several rejections, but I will keep trying.

What a lovely triolet...does it mean he's been adopted? And will never know his birth parents? That can be such a blessing sometimes...beautiful...blessings...Judy

Adopted? You know, that's an angle I hadn't intended, but I can see how one might read that from the poem. There are a number of things running through it. Or at least I attempted to. Yes, my godsister was adopted, and not as a baby either, which made it doubly special.

Glad I saw something unintended in it...the mark of a great poem, different people can read it so many different ways!

The only thing I couldn't understand was your authors notes.I enjoyed your work, it was well thought out, I could tell. Nice job

Thank you, Dawny53. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Sometimes I write a poem because someone said something to me. I put that note to remind me. It probably wouldn't make much sense to anyone out of context. But, that was the trigger.
