This is nice because I worked in a library for thirty some years and I know what a book drop is like.

I like how you made you made imaginary, a style children love.

Good luck with your poem.

Beautifully written and such a thoughtful look at a task most mums take for granted.
I love the imagery and description used to explain the many adventures returned back through the return book slot.
Perfect rhyme and meter and a lovely, bright presentation.

This is so precious. It is amazing what children think of the things we take for granted. Someday I'll write a short story about my what my daughters thought an off ramp to the freeway was...it is hysterical. Great work with this one. Marvelous subject. fun bouncy flow, and terrific rhyme. I enjoyed this immensely.

Brooke;
The picture that you used of Sawyer dropping a book into the library slot is precious and complementary to your poem.
Your rhyming quatrains were done very well in with your tempo and meter done exceptionally your rhythm flowed smoothly throughout your poem. Your writing was neither forced nor labored throughout your poem.
Your message was quite clear and enjoyable to read as it was expressed nicely and described so well.
Thank you for sharing and posting this for everyone to read and may the sun always shine on your shoulders.

Are elephants roaming
the African plains
now giving the book drop
severe tummy pains - soooo cute and imaginative!
such a charming ditty

I have had a clear and truly childlike innocence nearly float to my surface while taking this in. Like any golden memories, I wish to absorb it. The way your work is capable of being inspired by what is childlike and also displaying this graceful seriousness in tone, this depth, is a treasure. A genius. Reading what you have to say couldn't make for a more rewarding experience! I adore it.

O.K. the cutest-ever-meter is in full force on this one! How absolutely precious.
This idea, in and of itself is stellar. How do you do it? (she asks, with just an itsy bitsy tad of envy....o.k.with a LOT of envy...LOL

I love how you take a simple object or simple topic and weave a tale with imagination, fun, and turn us all into innocent children taking part in enjoyable activities. I loved the picture too. The world is such an exciting place seen from the eyes of a child. Thank you for bringing back precious memories!

This is yet another interesting poem that the author has created with this piece of writing. I often wonder what happens to the books I get rid of as well. I usually take them down to the charity shop. It would be a great idea if you could pay a fee to track it. Maybe we should suggest that.
