Hi Jaq,

there's all one tribe... all one people... but AUNTY wants the control... whether it's America, Scotland or even Australia... well at least one had the sense to fight for their independence... we've tried here twice to no avail... still tied to the apron-strings... lets hope your up-coming Commonwealth games shows the motherland your all grown-up, that it's time to let go of control... that Scotland is and always be its own identity... truly, I think that Aunty's just scared of letting go of such power... but it's time... run your own game, cut the apron-strings... good luck with the referendum... but there's loyalist hiding everywhere.

With our thoughts we create,
our own freedom,
James xx

Hi James there certainly are many waiting to pounce. The BBC are only reporting one side up here and it isn't ours. I didn't realise how much the government controls our media. I was so naive before this. The was an anti-austerity march in London the other weekend with 50,000 people out in force, making their feelings felt, and nothing live on the BBC. They even doctored the live feed CCTV into London to show a normal day. Thank God for the internet.

Many thanks for your good wishes and one day we will all be free <3. Love as always to you and Jade xxxx

I am Native American mixed and all is forgiven. Hope the Scotts can get what they want. My wife's people are Scotts. Play the pipes each year at family reunion. Peace .

I came from the clans: Melville, Leslie, and Macgregor so I am hoping and praying for your cause. This is a nice poem and as an American, I thank you for your holiday wished.

excellent use of abcb rhyme - love the proximate pairing of freedom and referendum and abundance/independence
America, enjoy your day - add comma for direct address
I wish you all the best in your quest for independence, a desire you express effectively in this poem :-) Brooke

This reminds me of another great Scotsman by the name of William Wallace. He was such a brave soldier that fought for freedom for your country such a very long time ago. This was a well written verse that I enjoyed reading and writing this response for... John

What a lovely poem. I think your couplets are great. I am so sorry someone had to bring up political correctness for your poem. You didn't offend me, I enjoyed it very much. Best of luck in your country's quest of freedom, Shiley

Shirley your words are very comforting. I would never knowingly insult such a noble race of people. Thanks for your kind review and good luck wishes for Independence, Jaq xx

I understand what you meant and as a person of both Scottish and Native American descent I took no insult at what you said and welcome the idea of independence for Scotland. It is WAY past time. And you did get the stone back, that was a start.

I believe it was The Bruce that made The Hay clan Hereditary High Constable.

Thank you Ward, my intent is never to offend so I'm glad I didn't upset you. It was indeed Robert the Bruce in 1309. Many thanks again for reading and revewing :) Jaq xx

I saw where someone wrote tongue in cheek about sitting on the Stone. I thought it was given back.

Cheers to that! And we will pray that it not be frivolously given away by greedy leaders. Although, in many ways American leadership is selling our country away too. In that light, let us pray for liberty and justice for all. -T. J. Hamilton

It is criminal the way those in power treat us with such disdain. They line their own pockets and we seem to feed of the scraps.

Many thanks for your empathy for our battle. :) Jaq xxx
