War.... politics and religion. It's all a headache. You voiced yourself well in this commentary. Good visual imagery created with truisms. Good work.

Thank you Alicia.

You are absolutely right: "Insanity rules these holy wars," and why not "Extend a brotherly hand"? I just heard on the radio that North and South Korea are at it again! Thank you for creating rhymed, rhythmic quatrains for your plea for peace. Well done- Joan

Bravo. Well said, Tom. Why the hatred and the killing? Emotions reign supreme, the brain taking a back seat to common sense. Man's inhumanity to man has always baffled me. No one wins. This is excellently written. You've conveyed so much in so few words. Superb. Wish I had a "six" left.

So much conflict always in the Middle East--when will it end?
A well-crafted, poignant writing on the horrors of war--don't understand why we cannot live in peace as God intended.

You were right to have placed this under commentary and philosophic poem.
This piece has a lot to give to the readers or reviewers a lot of pondering to do.
We cause a war in the name of religion and faith.
It shows that there's conflict between the so called entity they worship, and do not stand as one.

Even Christians fight among themselves. I was in Britain in those years when there was fighting between the Protestants and Catholics in Northern Ireland. Why do religions release such hate and conflict when God wanted peace. As you say, it is "Satan's hideous plot."

Radical mullahs and rabid preachers have a lot to answer for. I am with you in your bewilderment. When will the insanity end? More lives thrown in the breach will not solve it. " truths teeter on veneration/ of deities misconstrued as brash- excellent line.

Dear Tom - I so agree with your question in your author notes. Why why why???
Your poem is empowering and at the same time reality seems to contradict any good effort to claim peace. Your poem as always skillfully penned, solid rhyme and flow - you make it look easy.
Thanks for sharing.

This is a powerful message and one I sure wish the world would heed. Well written with excellent rhyming and good flow. One small SPAG in "massage(message)of love".

Hi, Treischel,
"Cease the Conflict" is an excellent poem expressing a reverently longed for aspiration on both Muslim and Christian sides. It seems only some break the peace but they are able to spin such religious propaganda that most stand by. Excellent poetic craft.
