Hilarious--wickedly witty take on rationalizing sloth. (I've written several satirical pieces on the theme of avoiding housework, and one on lack of lawncare, titled GOING GREEN) Delightful piece--excuse me while I do my duty re ice cream!

Thank you for helping me establish new dimensions in creative (aka slothfulness) greening! Freezer burn is real...be careful...this work is not without it?s hazards. I shall investigate your portfolio for satirical pieces.
This is not plagiarism...if I take something, consider it admiration.
Thanks for your review!

Have at it! None are currently listed--thus a two-penny payout, alas, but hopefully you'll have some fun. A partial list to get you started: Political Follies, Where Have All the Sixes Gone. (Praise the Lord and Dialog for Dummies are presently up for review)

Thanks, I?ll gravitate to dummies material no doubt. 😄

Wasn't sure if you'd read that one yet. It had accumulated 25 reviews in the course of three promotions--I just repromoted it to get the magic #26, which will result in a virtual ALL TIME BEST ribbon (ha!)--purely quantity based, of which a dozen are system generated daily!

You create this interesting portrait of someone using an issue to save money, and effort, for himself, and also eat his wife's ice cream. We get that glimpse of a character manipulating others around him through a cause, a popular cause, making him difficult to argue with. I thought you did a good job bringing the personality to life through the narrative. estory

Really enjoyed this. So very good - humorous and witty. And you have explained (maybe) the mind of my husband - maybe he is just being environmentally friendly also. Very well done.

Sounds like you married the right guy; comfortably green.😄

When I first started reading your story, I thought you actually were an environmentalist and I was going to show it to my husband, who truly is one...though he doesn't preach to anyone else to follow suit.
But alas, instead you have written a tongue-in-cheek tale, using wit and writing talent. Oh well, we are what we are and we're good at what we are good at.
Good job. And wishing you luck if this is in a contest.

I am sorry to see you have misread my commitment to environmental issues. Such commitment does not come without hardship; freezer-burn...it's real.
-
Aah. I'm glad to hear I misread it. My apologies. I have found in my own work that my attempts at humor have, at times, run rough-shot over my real intentions. To me this happened here. If I misread it, I am sorry. Did anyone else misread it?
-
My reply was tongue in cheek...firmly. Sorry if I caused you undue concern, but it does show you have a lovely kindness towards others. God bless you, Dennis
-
You are kind. Thank you. And I'm glad you really are green. :)
-
p.s. I'm sorry if I was acting unnecessarily cool in my review. I honestly thought you were one of the political die-hards I battle with occasionally on this site.
-
Maybe cool is being aware when you are being unnecessarily cool and seeking to rectify the situation by being unnecessarily apologetic? :)

This is a pretty humorous post that is very well written. It leads the reader to think about his/her own personal feelings about going green and saving our planet. My favorite part was your need to eat the ice-cream to save units of energy. Sounds like something I would do. This is very funny, and well done.

Thank you and I applaud your dedication to the cause. Such commitment does not come without hardship, so be prepared for freezer-burn...it's real.

This is funny. I like your sense of humor. I take that in reality going green is not your thing and you are poking fun and all the publicity that the green crowd is getting. I glad we live in a world where every one can have their own opinion without any hard feelings. At least, some of the time.

I'm sorry. Since you labeled it as humor I assumed you meant it as satire, which usually means you believe the opposite. At any rate it was good writing. I enjoyed it.

Beth, my reply was tongue in cheek and supposed to be funny. No need to apologize at all. Sorry I misled you! 😄

I wish I had six stars for this grand, yet funny look at playing our part in saving planet earth. Sure makes me think now of the little things.

I'm not sure if this is tongue-in-cheek, but it's very creative and funny. It also happens to be very well written, deceptively laid-back. From 2014? where's it been all this time?

Well, this is nice satire. sometimes a good spoof is needed to bring people back into the real world and show how things can go to silly extremes in the name of virtue. I really like the carpool skit. we drive alone for areason.
Good stuff.

I like your way of going green =] I'll have to try it. I have already eaten the ice cream. I feel so environmental. My neighbors never take matters into their own hands though, we just get a letter from the HOA. =[ Very fun write. Good luck with your continued endeavors to go green. =]
