this is very well written, Carolyn, you did an excellent job writing this couplet poem that encapsulates the story of Daniel surviving the lion's den. I enjoyed reading it.

Again, I am familiar with the image of Daniel in the lion's den, but had forgotten the circumstances that led up to it. I didn't know their mouths were shut tight. This is a delightful way to remember those stories.

Carolyn, what magnificent predators! It only makes the story of Daniel more miraculous. It is such a great testament to God's protection and provision. The couplets are rhymed solidly with a flowing meter. Well done. :0 GracieAnn

This is a very beautiful rendition of the book of Daniel that the author has created with this piece of writing. Daniel was a very lucky and religious man and this served him well in this story.

Carolyn, and marvelous and very creative and inventive piece of poetry that is simply inspirational, enlightening and illuminative. Your rhyming and Lyndon was done excellently and neither of your rhymes were forced, labored or strained while your rhythm flowed smoothly throughout your Palm which made it easy for me to read your poem so clearly. Your story of the old parable of Daniel and the lion's den was written so well that the imagery seemed to dance in the my minds eye as I was impressed by how you handled the way you have written this story so well. Thank you for sharing of posting this for everyone and may you have a happy Memorial Day.

I really liked this one. The story of Daniel and the lions has always been one of my favorites (and my youngest brother is named after Daniel!). I thought the use of dialogue when Daniel speaks of the angel really added life into your poem.
One tiny suggestion, you might want to take a look at the word "great" in the final line. For me, the rhythm feels smoother without it, but that could just be the way I'm reading it.
Thanks for sharing - I still love this idea for a collection of poems.

Thanks JB, I will look at the last line, with appreciation for the suggestion. Glad you are liking the series. BTW, I should have around 20 to 30 in the series when completed.

solid use of rhyming couplets
do God's will - add apostrophe for possessive
lion's den - add apostrophe
good alliteration in down to the den
you've taken a familiar Bible story and breathed new life into it by telling it in rhyme while still retaining the highlights of the plot and the message it delivers :-) Brooke
