It's so great to see that so much of the world around you appears in your poetry.
These set metred quatrains tell a fine tale of how community money can be put to good use for all.
Well written, rhymed and preseented.

Thank you for sharing the photograph of one of your local ball fields. We are fortunate in the Malibu/Santa Monica area to have excellent tax-supported parks where both youths and adults can use their "pent-up energy" or just enjoy their leisure time. I, for one, walk regularly in our municipal parks. I enjoyed your rhymed quatrains and social commitment. Cheers and happy weekend- Joan

There is a great message in this wonderful poem that we must invest in these youths. Like you I enjoyed seeing kids play sports and loved watching my son play soccer. Well done, Tom.

Hi, Treischel,
"Ball Field" is an excellent poem with good meter, rhyme and a rhyme scheme followed consistently. It has good figurative language (investment in our youth) and imagery.

Beautifully stated homage to providing activities for youth, It is amazing how fulfilled young people can be when given the opportunity. They learn so much and the reward is is that they are saved from the juvenile detention centers. I know-I have worked in a juvenile detention center of over 21 years. Well done.

Great poem with a good message. In this age of "screen entertainment", it is even more important to encourage kids to go outside and play. Thanks for reminding us of that, Tom.

A very enjoyable verse. I have spent many hours watching my children and then grandchildren playing ball on community and school fields. At least you can
see where your tax money is going, which is not always the case. I can name a few pot holes in need of attention!
Smiles to you, Robin :)

I loved these lines, "So, watching them with pride,
on fields my taxes made,
and the community supplied,
is worth the money paid."

Many people don't realize their taxes go for such things.
Nice write and informative too

Well said and presented and since I play Senior BB, I know exactly where you're coming from. A message that should be heard but sadly the vast majority of our youth are getting fat, lazy and show a lack of empathy because of the growing social scourge of electronics. Our tax dollars will be cleaning up the psychiatric/physical mess 10 years from now if not already.

Treischel - I really enjoyed reading this poem. For several reasons, the passion you have in writing is felt because of the embrace you've taken from this moment in the picture. you've painted the wisdom filled and essence of your thoughts of the good things in life with this poem and moment. Excellent.
