Posing a question and getting an answer. This is the usual give and take.
But asking the question in quest of knowing does not really only satisfies superficially. Would it matter if the answer is "yes" or "no?" The character's need to know the answer is only a means to clear up things. If "yes," then thank you' if "no," let me move on and continue with my life.
A hesitant yes or a wavering no again starts the cycle of doubt. If actions speak louder than words, the response is only half the answer.

I'm sure that Eve asked Adam this (and/or vice versa). Words that have been spoken millions of times but never, until now, put in a senryu. Always an original twist on timeless themes. Love it.

It is this question many is dying to know the answer unless we have been given assurance time and again.
If we do not know for sure, we can become restless and unhappy and it is so simple just to ask and we will know for sure, smiles.
