I couldn't really read this as well as I liked because the music disturbed me and there was no way to turn it off. SO all I can say is I liked the first stanza.

Well, you'll just have to kill him, Dean. Man up! Advertise for another muse. A female muse, of course. Twisted, but pretty. One that allows a full eight hours sleep. Thank goodness for the great advice of your fellow FanStorians!

Okay, I think he screwed you on this one. No screams and lots of smiles when I read each verse. Your alter ego is coming through. LOL

Ha ha, yeah, there is a bit of dark humor in it, I'll admit. But, my damn muse, he never shuts the hell up, lol!

Thanks so much for your spot-on and entertaining review, Spit!

This was epic. Your muse is definitively a monster but he works well on you and even though he scares you and torments you he does wonders for your readers.

I always have a six for you. Your poems fascinate me and I now know why you write so well. Your muse is determined to see you do well and I think he gives you great ideas.

My muse is a pesky little Irish dude ...Rick O'Shea and that is what he does all day..boing boing boing around my skull. I wake up and tell my husband my thoughts in the morning and he says he couldn't be in my brain one second! I say all that to say. Well done...Muse give Dean some sleep..is the painter Rubens?
God bless

Hey, if your muse keeps giving to you - just take it and go with it. Your muse seems to do very well for you be it sunny or dark.

You sound like me, but mine doesn't threaten me, just swirls the rhymes around in my head until I get up and write it down. Your poem rhymed beautifully and said succinctly what was in your heart. I am a bit scared of the images, but the poem was super. Most enjoyable. Faye

DEAN: the strength of your gift of writing is powerful and this work demonstrates that very well. There IS a reason for certain that you were given this prodigious gift and it may just be that your muse is begging for you to actually use this power to destroy him and give him rest!!! So another muse (waiting in the light) may come forth with teachings so important that your gift is needed for their deliveries? A perspective that may or may not be true, but certainly it is ponderable! When I consider the state of the world today (especially America) I can actually find logic in this proposition. Cheers! Vance

You know, Vance, I kind of do too. I have made a fairly decent living as of late in my writing, by promoting it and selling a few stories and dark poetry here and there to some magazines and ezines. But perhaps it is time to step out from the shadows more often, and explore that lighter side a bit more often.

Thanks so much for your outstanding review, my friend. It's always a pleasure when you drop by.
