Mikey, congratulations on the 5-7-5 er. The irony of winter smiling at our feeble attempts at thinking we have conquered the ice is well done. :0 GracieAnn

Congratulations in being one of the winners in the contest. You took a delightful turn in the fun and exciting facets of that season. Well done.

Old Man Winter, he sure is a cruel customer. Well, not always, but he can be. Like your 5-7-5 here, for example. Nothin's worse than falling through thin ice into a frigid, once frozen pond!
Good luck!

good luck in the contest
your 5-7-5 has the correct line and syllable count
your few words allow the reader to see and feel that skating on thin ice as winter begins
cheers Smoothiecool

The tremendous worry that will dampen our spirits is when we are deceived for what looks safe turns out to be the death of us, sometimes.

A good bit of stand-up comedy here! Or, more accurately, fall-through-a-hole-in-the-ice comedy! The sound of that fateful crack sure does give one a sinking feeling!

I love the whole presentation.
You have captured the unpredictable side of winter perfectly.
The carefully chosen words and imagery complement each other well.

Most clever indeed. Captures winter in one of its many moods. When it isn't assaulting us with blizzards it is getting our cars stuck or dropping us in frozen lakes.

This is great. It stands as a great metaphor for life... how often do we skate along enjoying the moment until we hit the unforeseen crack in the ice? Sometimes we fall in and sometimes we stumble. Nicely done:)

Hi
Love this! The cartoon is awesome with the c-r-a-c-k! And then followed by skating gracefully. This is very well done, with a chuckle!
Good luck in the contest.
Cheers
