You should have entered this in the contest. It's not the usual sappy stuff. Wonderful simile in stanza four. Nice word pairing with "cushioned voice".

There's a sadness in this poem, though many words chosen are pleasant and not hinting at sadness at all. Perhaps it's just my interpretation or feelings evoked by reading this piece. Vivid imagery and ample opportunity for imagination and dreamy thoughts. Many romantic words which are of course, my favorite, yet the sadness remains. Always love your free verse writings... thanks for sharing this with me.
