Hello healfromwithin,
Love the flavor that the Hawaiian words bring to this poem.
I visited Hawaii last December and your words carry greater significance because of this.
Good free verse, full of energy.
Have a great week,
Sonali

I think you must live in Hawaii - and the state flower the hibiscus is a favourite of mine. A good free verse - needs to be read slowly then re-read. But it is worth it as it is a lovely tale about the Makani. This is a good entry for the contest and I wish you luck. Regards Dorothy

An island have very little strength to brace a major storm. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read. Good luck in your contest.

Good strong clear message, there was some great alliteration I liked spinning, sighing , I liked the inclusion of the hiaiwian words, I really liked it,

I thought that this was both spiritually beautiful and lyrically lovely, healfromwithin. I loved the Hawaiian dialect and traditional wordage you utilized here, and I felt that it made the poem even more interesting and wonderful than it already was. Plus, I learned some new words today, which is always a plus for me.
Well done, a very well presented, beautiful composition.

If I could say, "You are very welcome, my friend" in the Hawaiian dialect, you know I surely would, lol.

Beautifully flowing free verse poem you have written Healfromwithin. Of course that's after reading your author notes. It's been many years since II was in Hawaii.

This is a lovely free verse for the contest:) I like that you included Hawaiian words and phrases even though I suspect that some won't. Good luck to you.

Good description that paints and clear picture in my mind. Good alliteration with palm/paka...slices/spear...down/dirt...spinning/sighing. Good complimentary photo followed by a clear message.

Reading this poem is like touching silk. It is soft and flowing and whispers each work as you read. What a lovely free verse poem, and what a brilliant contest entry. Good luck, I am sure it will do well. :) sandra
