Excellent. Great start to your new novella. This is interesting, entertaining and very gruesome- I loved it. Very we'll written and I can't see anything that needs changing. I am looking forward to the next instalment.

Well, thank you very much, McSween. The fact that you feel it needs no changes is a good thing, my friend, and I certainly appreciate your kind comments and review!

Owe. Scares me more because there are parasites and you describe in such detail. Reading your notes on the pissing in the stream, I grabbed my crotch. Uggh! That's why I would rather try to survive in a blizzard and not the tropics! Remember when the Ebola virus was very real and flesh would bleed out from every orifice?

Hah, yeah, this story will probably have a greater impact on men, simply because of that fact. But, as long as it impacts someone, and terrifies them, then I am happy so far.

Thanks, Stan, and I will be getting to your latest chapter very shortly.

Brilliant! I haven't been this hooked since 'The Stand'. You expertly hooked your readers, then built tension in your narrative until I am panting at the bit for the next chapter. I saw no SPAG, and have no issues with the storyline. Bring on the next chapter. :)

Oh, you've made my day, Michaelk. Anytime a fellow reader makes a reference to a Stephen King novel, and my own work, I smile from ear to ear, as I am right now. To me, he is the epitome of horror in the written word, whose work I admire. I will always aspire to generate the same intense levels of character development and story telling that Mr. King achieves. And while I might fall short, or miss the mark sometimes, trying to be the best is the least i can offer my readers, where horror is concerned.

Thanks so much for your awesome review, my friend!

I too aspire to be as intense in my writing as Mr. King. My favorite of his axioms (which I often use) is 'Kill your darlings'.

I have heard of this catfish before and know the fate of those affected from descriptions of its size and activities from National Geographic. Your account strikes me in odd places on my own physique and terror it can inspire. It is a gruesome story in expertly phrased passages and notes.

How could we not follow along after reading the first chapter. That is the most ghoulish page I've ever read. I will have to read it all now. And, I will never, ever swim in any lake, stream or river ever again! Excellent first page, Dean. xsx Sandra

Dean, this is more than my sensitive system can take, I'm afraid. I would love to read your work, but I just can't deal with something this horrible. Please understand. I'm a total wimp when it comes to human suffering, especially kids. :(

I understand, Phyllis, and this story is so horrifying because it could be true one day. I pray to God that mankind wakes up and stops trying to play God, before it is too late. If it isn't too late already!

Thanks for at least checking in, I do appreciate it.

Yuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk. Some bug indeed Dean. I can imagine the host is very devastated in the end. Your imagination takes off like wildfire.

Thanks, G, it is a pretty frightening topic, germ warfare I mean. It's one that bothers me deeply. This story has been "bugging" me to let it out of it's cage for quite some time. I decided to just let it out and see what happens.

Thanks for your awesome review. "Yuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk" is a great compliment to a horror writer, lol!

    Have a super Sunday!

Your title is missing an r. Aside from that, I didn't notice any mistakes. You had me hooked right off the bat by creating a gruesome juxtaposition with the beautiful dawn and melting three year old lol. I think you're doing a great job with this write, and I'm definitely looking forward to reading more. Great work as always, Dean, thanks for sharing.

Oops! Thanks for catching that for me, 'Chup! I spent so much time editing the dang story, I should have looked more closely at the title, lol. You can always rely on me to miss something. But, that's why I have good friends like yourself to point out my stupid mistakes, heh heh. Thanks again for the review, 'Chup.
