solid use of rhyming couplets
nice touches of alliteration
vivid detail and visuals of delightful performances like dogs dressed up for ballet and cats on tightrope
I love it when the magician exits - very smile inducing :-) Brooke

Debbie, this is a quintessential poem about the art of magic tricks. Everything is appropriate in form and presentation. The rhyme is sound with an engaging meter. :0 GracieAnn

Weonderful pictorial view of the magicians stage. Isn't it funny how, even as adults, we hold our breath until the 'sawed in half' assistance appears again, all in one piece. Good job with your series. :-) Carolyn

Hi Debbie, this poem reminded me of my young years when I would be mesmerized by the magician.
I haven't seen one in many years. You amaze me how you make words rhyme and make sense at the same time.

This poem is fun and it flows quickly, keeping the reader engaged and entertained. There are a couple of lines that seem awkward to me: "musician's music does play" (could you delete the does?) and "assistant opens cage" (this doesn't sound natural to me), as well as "onlookers hold breath" (also not natural language). I think as you look this over and do a couple of re-writes, these things can be corrected and the poem will flow so much better.

Hi Debbie,
This is a cute little poem that I found to be a very interesting read. It's always fun to watch magic shows. I see you're writing for the National Poetry Month's poem a day. It reminded me of Phyllis' latest chapter in her book too.

I like to watch good magicians do their thing. They can be very entertaining. This was a well written poetic thought process about that very thing. I enjoyed partaking of this well written journey into the thoughts of magicians... John

I think you poets do magic when you put all the words together to come out with a beautiful rhyming flowing poem. This poem is a treat to read.
