I enjoyed reading your story-poem, although it did not go into any detail of exactly what went wrong.
We too have paid to go on holiday only to discover that the accommodation was terrible!
We stayed at a place in Aitutaki Island where water was very limited. We arrived on a Sunday to find all the shops closed and had nowhere to eat. We had 2 starving teenage boys with us. Our beds consisted of one-inch thick old foam mattresses laid on top of hard, creaking plywood. We were stuck there for 2 weeks! And, we went home infested with mosquito bites that were so bad you would think we had been away on 'Survivor'.

Wow! So bad. I can see a story here! Sorry for not enough details I plan, as I said, Ghost writing my wife's book she wrote (we had 2 accounts on here way back but Tom stuffed us up with his firewalls...long story if interested) Then you will get more detail. I was trying to avoid "stealing her thunder" in those days.

Give the stories new titles, embellish them and re-post. Tom won't mind. And, you will probably get new readers.

I like your poem very much. I don't have too many bad experiences with hotels, Mostly we've been lucky. In the past few years, all our trips have been in our Rv, which we now live in, so I imagine if we go on vacation again, it will be strange. Thanks for sharing

Sankey, I think one of these days I'll enroll and ask you to coach me in writing poems. You do have a lovely way of stringing them words together.

In all this, most assuredly
We have to confide
The time surely comes
When some Hosts step aside.

But not soon!

Hi new friend. I am a Melancholy ie write music and have that "feeling" thing so maybe that helps. Alas not in some of the more obscure poetic forms. Plain old abab and so on. Cheers.

Hi, Goeff

= Yep, no doubt about it, when traveling, the bad always stays with us.
= More so when one has a disability.
= When I had to use a scooter when first ill, you find out just how -rude- peeps can be.

Thanks luv appreciate you coming by. As I said I should "Ghost write" my wife's"Our Trips" book again on here. You know about my anxt with Tom when we had 2 accounts, I think? Something about his firewalls and stuff to prevent writers reviewing their own work but it also stuffs up a couple if they are both writing on the site. Long story if I have not told you before.

I too during my travels have found some of the more expensive to be the least desireable. this is very well done in flow and rhyme

I owned a motor home once to avoid this. It was expensive to move it down the highway but worth every penny as to have clean home cooked meals and clean sheets on our personal bed and pillows. Thanks for sharing another of your wonderful writes. Best to you, Bro.

Yeah Bro I have dreamed of having a Motor Home, but these days now Louise's mobility has hit a big bump in the road it would be useless to us. Thanks for coming by, mate. OI may have touched on this subject in my biography.

I have had some of the same experiences here in America booking hotels and find them inadequate when finally arriving. I really like the way you describe your encounters. Great job. Looking forward to the next one.

Thanks Sis. We had hassles with Tom on here when we had 2 accounts my wife wrote "Our Trips" book so I was trying not to steal any of her thunder back then. I may Ghost-write as I said her book again on here that this poem is sort of part of.

A very well-written poem about the accommodation over the country for travelers that is not always ideal for anyone let alone for someone with disabilities who are not able to climb stairs etc.

G'day cobber.

How are you both, well and fit I hope.

A really nice piece on a sometimes horrid topic. I've been quite lucky over the years... but having said that... I camp in the bush wherever possible... which is too hard if you are physically disabled.

But you still have each other and your sense of humor and that's important.

Great job, mate and say Cooee to Louise for me please.

Cheers Fez

Thanks Bro appreciate you coming by. Louise has been in Hospital for more than 2 months now. I think I told you about that before.

I'm so sorry, mate. No, you haven't told me that sad news... Probably because I'm not on here much, now. Wish her all the best from old Feral, please.

Will do mate I saw you on Facebook under your real name asked to be friends.
reply by Walu Feral on 03-Jul-2017
Thanks mate. The problem with Facebook is that I hardly ever go on there because of time constraints... but I'll try.
