Debra - you are right about that. Any child with a great spirit and imagination can turn any place to a theme park if properly equipped. A Great 5-7-5 and truly an enjoyable read.

good poem.
required could be shortened to requir'd to make it read quicker. other than that i'd say this is a pretty solid 5-7-5 poem.
though that comment alone was too short so i'm adding this final paragraph to ensure you will be able to receive my comment and for me to get my points.
God bless you!

Love it! This brings back fond tree-climbing memories of my childhood, when the top of a tree was a castle and "Theme Park" was not in my vocabulary. Happy, carefree days, and you have captured this in your short poem, with of course the perfect picture to illustrate your words.
Good luck in the contest - this should do well.

Excellent theme, mystery writer.
Indeed, technology has taken over simple and necessary adventure.
Thanks for reminding me of my tree-climbing days as a kid. We were surrounded by woods, and I spent loads of time climbing trees - and some time falling out of them. :-)
Good luck, Ted

Yep, I can relate to that kid. Building tree houses was a HUGE source of fun and pride when we were in our preteen years. One of them still remains today, at the home my parents currently live in. Dad & I restored it about 10 years ago, and all many little kids in our family love plating there.
Amusement Parks?! No way!
Great job.

Hi Dean :) Thank you so much for your great feedback. I never had a tree house and there aren't any established trees in our garden for us to build one for the kids - such a shame, they'd love one... Happy to hear at least 1 of yours is still getting plenty of use! Why pay the admission for theme parks when trees and imagination are free?! Kindest regards...:)

You got it! The pleasure was all mine!

You followed all the rules for Haiku. I think that you made a good choice for a title. This young by is certainly a tree hugger of a different sort. Original concept for this contest.

good luck in the contest. I agree. I would tire of theme parks, but trees, never. Used to spend hour upon hour in them, including one time I was chased there by a mossed who was a little pissed at me for throwing snowballs at his. . .in which case, the tree probably saved my life
