That's a very great fine write without doubt. But I think it will make more effort or meaning when you recite it to a royal one.
Congratulation on your winning!

A excellent poem - very well written - good rhyming couplets and a worthy winner. I enjoyed your author notes and like you wondered about the motivational demand in the prompt. I thought it meant something like 'getting them to eat their porridge' or 'take their medicine'. I like your idea about the book. Well done! Regards Dorothy

Dorothy, thanks for the kind words - the voters obviously didn't care too much about the 'motivational' aspect.

Hi Steve
What a magical land of Gobbledegooks!. Forget the kiddies ... you roped me in. lol
Full of maxing creatures and folks .... like living in a grande parade all day. I imagine children will love this and what a great book it would make. The colourful pages and plenty of "spot the ..." and I love the little blue mirror at the back. Go on ... do it ... I have half a dozen young children who would love a story like this. My sons' are a bit old now ... though this is the kind of book that would attract me as a mum to buy. Witty, fun, colourful, imaginative and so much going on. In fact I would probably purchase it for me to read pretending it was for the kids. LOL I did that with a number of their childhood stories. Heheh. Loads of poetic technique and wonderfully expressed imagery. Terrific presentation. A worthy winner as per usual ....... :))) Great work and congratulations. Yes the prompt didn't define itself very well. Hugs - Lovi xoxo

Lovi, thanks for the kind words and the six stars - so glad you liked this piece.
I used it yesterday with a special needs class I was supervising - asked them to recall all the 'characters' after I'd read it to them and yes, they seemed to enjoy.
I have 'get published' as one of my goals for this year so maybe this would be a good one to start with.

Hi Steve
You do excel in the poetry for the children ... though adults can enjoy your work as well which to me is the right first step towards publishing. i can imagine some weird and wonderful creatures and characters. I would just love to see ... published ... for you. You do have exceptional talent. Gobbledegooks is such a fab title. Hugs - Lovi xoxox

This is a consistently rhymed with a happy-skippy meter, the sort children live to hear read. It would make a wonderful children's picture book and easier for children to comprehend if the lines are accompanied by colorful pictures.
