I like the words you use to describe this gorgeous bird. Without a color reference, you nonetheless express the essence of scarlet.
Excellent final line. It's true that I feel a burst of exhilaration when a cardinal flutters into view.
The artwork and the bold font underscore the message of your write.
Best of luck in this enjoyable contest.

This was a wonderful poem. Your poem reads well, and the message is clear. Your 5-7-5 syllable count is in good order. Cardinals are beautiful birds. Your last line is very good. Nice job.

The cardinal is one of my favorite birds. Luckily we live in an area where they are a common sight. The syllable count is perfect and the picture you have chosen enhances your words. Excellent contest entry. Best of luck.

A cardinal is a vibrant bird whose color is enhanced by flight. Even without the picture I would have seen his beauty in my minds eye. Well done

'Vibrant' is the perfect word to describe the male cardinal as it matches his color and his personality.
I like the alliteration of "bold brightness" to also emphasize that color.
Your last line is provocative as it makes us think of the cardinal as the Speaker does, a metaphor for "getting started" and "moving" and "motivation."
Cardinals are our state bird and we pronounce their name with THREE syllables, not two. Please examine the syllable count in line 1 as you appear to have 6 not 5.
