Post cards, emails and texts will keep the traveler close to his family and friends, however far he/she is. I remember a trip I made to the Bahamas. I sent a post card to a close friend of mine. She told me how overjoyed she was to receive it. Well done, Tom.

Hi, Treischel,
"Communications from Afar" is an excellent octogram meeting all of the requirements of the form that you set forth. It has good rhyme, and rhythm, and rhyme scheme consistently followed with a good visually pleasing structure.

A well penned Octogram poem.
A perfect poetry style for your poem.
The repeated line in question form is quite effective in reinforcing the idea of travel and the desire for communication .
The darker background does make the wording harder to read.

An excellent poem! The author's notes are helpful in understanding the Octogram Poem. The author's words are descriptive, creative and clear. I found the last stanza especially considerate and sensitive - "Gives peace-of-mind to those who care"....
