This one is very well written. The humor is subtle and the rhyme and rhythm are exactly right,This deserved all the awards as it was a delight to read.

This is perfect in limerick form and is hysterically funny, Debra. I was really glad that I stopped by to read this one and I was delighted to see that it was the competition winner. Well done - it is well deserved. I love a great sense of humour and this made me smile.

Oh my goodness, I see why this limerick was a winner! This is oodles of fun, and definitely fits the prompt's instructions to a "T". I'm still grinning!

Hi Mary :) thank you so much for your wonderful feedback and message of congratulations!! I must admit it is nice to do well in a contest once in a while LOL! Frustrating yesterday with FS - the maintenance was from between 4-10pm here in the uk which is the usual time I have access to the computer. It's 6.50am here now and I've sneaked down to log-on before the kids wake up and need mommy-on-tap! Thank you again for your lovely comments :) Kindest regards as always, Debra :) x

A large, lovely lady named Nellie
Once lost the remote for her telly
She was rather impressed
When that night she undressed;
'twas tucked in the folds of her belly
Nice piece of work.
But did you mean swallowed it up?
Or the outward folds?
Good luck in the contest!

Thank you MagKing for your great feedback and good luck wishes. I appreciate both! I meant the outward folds, Nellie prefers to eat chocolate and chips over remote controls! Kindest regards, Debra :)

This is a very entertaining limerick, and well worth repeating. My sister and I laughed out loud.
The rhythm is consistent and the meter is perfect.
Great job!

This was a well written limerick poem. The poem reads, and flows well. Can you imagine that really happening? This poem paints a good mental picture of that. Nicely written.

A very nice poem with a very nice rhyme. Following the format of '8-8-6-6-8 Limerick', I have not really tried this. If you don't mind, I'll keep this as an example and perhaps try a limerick myself. Best wishes.
