Yes, in the not so distant past in Europe, challenges were made with the slapping of a glove across the face. Scores were then settled with dueling pistols, ten paces, turn and fire. Of course today that would not work, you would be dead before you took your second step. That's evolution for you. Another great poem. AJ.

Thanks so much, AJ, for the great review, and also for your insights, which I always love. You're an old soul, my friend.

Alright, you sir, have written a great little piece here. It flows easy and has a pretty cool little picture in the background. I picture two old men, sitting at a table arguing over who had the worst time in the military. Very easy to read, with a smile the entire time.

Ah, the gods! One brand of Colt was actually called the Peacemaker...I am not pro-gun also, but without guns there wouldn't be U.S. today and so no FS.

Yes, one of the all-time best gun names ever, my friend. Thank you!

LOL. You do have a way with words don't you. Once more I can not find fault with your structure or form ,it is as you have placed in our author notes.
Where do you get your idea's for your rogue. I am beginning to form wild plots of time travel or possible third life reincarnations...Nice work

Katz, they pop up all over the place. The key is to catch them when they do. I use the Notes app in my iPhone so I won't forget them. Go with those plots, Katz. Mine the gems, my friend.

I'm for owning guns but only for those that are trained to use them and kept under lock and key. Your poem has good Meter and I enjoyed the poetic verse. Don

Why the four, my friend?

Hi David, I love your poem and I love guns, like
the ones you have...in pictures. I'm petrified of
these "toys".
I like the first stanza, I would prefer a drink
better than anything else.
Have a wonderful day my friend.

Excellent photo of guns that complements this poem very well. Of course I understand it is not a pro-gun poem. You built it up slowly and that end never came:)

It's lucky you're a reasonable sorta guy. You're prepared to take the long and reasonable route from sorting out conflict over a drink to the shootout at the "it'll be OK corral". I reckon the tetrameter/ trimeter rhythm works really well in getting the mood just right for this piece.

Oh yes. I have long believed the smith and wesson, and other such names like gloch, and heckler and koch, are often correctly referred to as jesus - they can give life, save life, and also taketh life away. Good write !
