I like that the name of Zanzibar and the word sand are in this sme poem. I don't know that you've fully exploited this rhyming opportunity, but I do think that someone will in the near future. I like your poem.

I quite liked your senryu which is evocative, but sadly I don't think it is really fulfilling the prompt of praising a person, place or thing - hard to do that I know in 17 syllables.
I especially liked your last line which says a lot in few words.

I met a guy in Zanzibar that was heading home after a year of traveling around Africa,(home fires)After all that traveling to beaches,Serengetti, Zanzibar, he actually had sand in his passport. True story, thanks for the review
