A very well-written chapter, those days the rent was cheaper than today, and one could easily change from the one place to another without much loss of money. Today is a different story, places to rent are rare and expensive.

Thanks Sis appreciate your lovely review. I am annoyed at the lack of support I am getting in here even though I support a lot of others. Thankful for yours though.

INterresting descriptions of moving around and the great dane had me going as it does smell if that is where they were kept for awhile. I remember the adage...beggars cant be choosers.

Yeah right mate I was a beggar because I was a bad money manager. Thanks for coming through. The Snail pic is mine now as I got it from Fanart originally but the owner gave me my own. I promised him a mention in my book when it gets published.

This was an interesting chapter. It was well-worded and free of grammatical errors. Very good characterization! I especially liked the "Dr. Jekyll/Mrs. Hyde" description. Thank you for sharing this with us. Good luck with future writings!

Thanks Nikki-Nicole if you hurry real quick the two previous chapters still have rewards! I appreciate you being 'first cab off the rank' Glad you picked up how hard I worked at editing to make sure it was nice and clean. can't trust Grammarly or FS or Word Spell checking Grrr.

Very interesting, Sankey. I always enjoy reading about other people's experiences. A few notes to consider:

I did some 'wandering around', myself. -- No need for comma here.

I found a room to rent in a home in East Blaxland, -- Move back one spot.

They also had 2 young children -- 'two'. Spell out numbers below 10.

day...need I say more? -- Ellipsis has a space on each ... side.

This is well written and needs no edit that I can see. One thing about moving around, there's not much temptation to accumulate. Did you have a piano during that time? I moved one around for about 10 years. They can be buggers if a person isn't firmly planted.

No actually I did own an old Wurlitzer organ not a Theatre one :( but the Doctor would not allow me to take students in the flat at back of his surgery as I think I mentioned. But that was the last place before I moved back home again (due to the car fire and afters) Thanks again for a great review got a new fan last night he picked up same errors you did from Chapter 17 still have to go fix hehe. Loved the picture I found on Fbna art. heeh how appropriate.

Enjoyed this little reminiscence, Sankey. I know so many of the places you mention. I think I told you I lived in the Blue Mountains (Leura) until I was nine.

I loved the 'Dr Jekyl/Mrs Hyde' comparison! And the story of the Great Dane stench was so clear and believable...I can well imagine how that must have been! :(

Thanks again, Sankey. Antoine.

Hi thanks for that where do you live now are you still in Australia? Remember the old days in around Katoomba and the Gypsies and all that?Been enjoying your story on Laban as I said will read most but not review all unless there are spags I notice.

We're down in Launceston right now. Have been here for nearly seven years now. Came here to be on staff at the WEC missionary training college. Prior to that spent a year in East Timor with WEC. Beechmont, Qld for ten years before that (Gold Coast Hinterland), Brisbane, before that, 2 years. Moved from the Blue Mountains to Canberra when 9; five years in The Philippines with Wycliffe Bible Translators; 2 years in Sydney at Bible College, back to Canberra for a few years before moving to Qld. Been around a bit! Antoine.

You do know who founded WEC of course? My Mother helped at a lot of WEC Camps. I probably went to one or two myself. What about Miss Poppy I think her name was? They owned a Camp along side Lake Macquarie years ago. I went to Launceston in 1966 for the National Christian Endeavour Convention and the only other time I was in Tassie was with my wife in 1997, the year we retired on Disability. Also the year my Mother had a stroke and ended up in the Repat Nursing Home in Picton.

Hello Geoff,

You are really getting the hang of this, friend! Good formatting and the chapter is just the right length to hold the reader's attention.

You have led an eventful life, haven't you? :)

Well done!

Ok thanks for the great review. Not sure all of the pick up spags are right might be a cultural or country thing in a couple of cases, but I appreciate the 5 anyway I do the same for all my friends because I love all the reading!

This is really interesting, and I enjoy the wonderful, conversational tone. You do a great job of describing the different places in which you lived. You did get around! Daffy especially sounds like a fascinating character. People must have been impressed when she answered the phone, thinking you were so busy you had a secretary. I also liked the description of the mysterious smell. You were one to find places that had a strange smell. Thanks to watching "The Midsomer Murders," I know what a caravan is! Very readable, enjoyable story. You needn't capitalize words like nephew and niece. judi Added--you certainly had a lot of moving around in your experience. You had a good memory of all those places. The Great Danes made for an interesting experience wiwth all the drool and smell. judi

Hi Judy yeah sonali (Reaching for the stars) pointed that out too but I think some of her pickups might have been a cultural thing though. She picked up a LOT MORE THAN YOU HEHE! I think Daffy could have been a great salesperson ha. Was I talking to you about Ultrascan for the Carotid arteries today? I think it was one of the nurses in FS anyway be interested to see how it turns out
reply by judiverse on 18-Feb-2014
Hi, Sankey. Daffy did sound so interesting. Don't think I made a reference to an ultrasacan re carotid arteries. judi

Sorry I was talking to Lindalcreel about that she was a Nurse. SHe writes a bit of fantasy and stuff in FS do you know her lives in Florida.

Hi Sankey, this is a great addition to your life story. You could've worn a dress and leggings and stayed on in that house if you wanted?! Joke! I wouldn't have either though am always impressed by a bloke with the balls and figure to do it... You certainly did move around and your memory is amazing of all these events. Penrith is a town near where I live in England and I knew there was one in Oz but I never realised it was in the Blue Mountains near Sydney? Is that right? Nice to read this. Hope to hear from you soon, Pete :)

Yes they have done "Sister City" with Penrith in UK as well. Ours is on the Western fringe of greater Sydney metro e=area and the Mountains are just to the West of Penrith. Thanks for the great review dunno about the dress and leggings was that with Daffy or?

Ha ha! You're a funny man, Sankey! See you later, Pete :O

I realised the dress and leggings was to stay with the Pommy girl in the house up on the Mountains! Ha

I've missed some chapters. it sounds to me as if you taught some kind of musical instruments. This is an interesting piece and I am looking forward to the next piece. God loves you and so do I.
