It is that time of the year end to reflect upon our ahcievements, improve on our failures and to look to the future and start anew if that's the best option.
Some things will never change and acceptance is the best way forward at times.
Fate and destiny is not for us to say or predict. We go with the flow.
In the corners of our minds, we have expereinced so much in a year and in the past. The future in our hands to mold and what better time than to start now before the new year starts to roll in?

You mean the year 2013? It's quite a good year overall - no serious or big mishaps and made many friends here in FS, smiles. Yes, 2013 is cool.

Really interesting rhythm and use of rhyme. Taking stock as only a poet can, writing out failures and successes, balling them up and two points in the trash can. Time to start anew. On a good day, I score about a hundred points. using your first photo was a good decision suggesting a start.

good use of enjambment to create flow of thoughts from line to line
good use of occasional rhyme
good alliteration in few of the failures
and in bold and brash
effective simile with the dog's forgotten bone

Looking back can be a cleansing experience. It can be both positive and negative, as your poem clearly states. Your free verse (what feels like free verse) flows very smoothly from beginning to end, at which point it occurs to me it isn't free verse at all. Excellent use of rhyme. Nothing feels strained. Your reflections mirror those of so many of us. Thank goodness a new year is approaching at which time we can start anew. Blessings, Linda

This excellent free style poetry with good flow and rhyme which does not structure the poem, although, it does have good rhyme and an unconventional structure that is visually appealing.
