I love the picture. I love the poem. I used to love to eat snow. I would spend half the time with my mouth open. We used to be able to eat the snow off the ground too. I would not recommend that now. Great work. Good luck with the contest.

Children love to have
Cold, wet snowflakes land upon
Their pink, waiting tongues.

A real life story
Good luck and be blessed

You don't get a lot of room to create an image in these teeny poems, but your image is delightful. It starts with a lovely simple, but sensuous image and completes it with a visually satisfying rejoinder. Good Luck!

I know I always did, when I was a kid. Now, though, there's so much toxicity in rain water and snow, I'm not so sure.

To tell you the truth, though, when that first snow comes, I'll be right there, more than likely...tongue hanging out and all!

Nicely done. Best of luck to you in the contest...

An excellent poem using the 575 form. A universal experiece at least for kids in colder climates. I like the sensual words and the great anticipation in " waiting tongues". The photo you've chosen is super.

This is a nice haiku poem for the winter contest. Has the correct syllable count for each line. Has a nice picture to accompany the poem.
