It may have been in the mid- 90's but it also holds true for today, at least in the US. I doubt there's such a thing as an honest politician. I enjoyed reading your song/poem.

Committee meeting are seldom successful, especially one with political overtones. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.

This was a cute little ditty. You wrote it during the Obama term I see. I don't discuss politics so I wont put my opinion on this, but I found it fun to read.

Yeah well it was written way before OB, friend. It was written. originally here in Australia back in 1997, the year I left the Australian Public Service. Hope you liked my arrangement of When Johnny Comes Marching Home. Appreciate the lovely review.

Hi Sankey. Had to have a chuckle at this one cause think I'd be sobbing for the next four years if I didn't. Your rhyme and beat are in perfect form. The content, well all I can say is at least you don't have Trump politicking in your neck of the woods. xoxo Kiwi

A very well-written poem about the government and their everlasting dilemma they find themselves in where there is never enough money for what is important while the beaurocrats eat like fat cats.

I am very familiar with the tune When Johnny Come Marching Home. Clever song/poem that pretty much sums it up for just about every country. It was fun to hear the tune as I read this. Very nice work with this one.

Hey we never know I do sometimes go back and add more stuff to my chapters and even songs ha. Appreciate you coming by without any encouragement (rewards) I have a new Media player someone put me on to. Might have another go at getting the tune on the song again you did not hear any music I presume?

Not very familiar with the tune, yet there is no denying the fact that you did a good job of you satire on government. 'The poor old ship has lost its rudder'. Well not quite. Ship has not run aground yet. Well written. Thanks. Remain blessed. Emeka

This is a lyric quite rhythmic in its pattern of rhyme. Its subject depicts the lot of the common man, and the civil servant in such affected societies. The tone is subtly critical.

Yep sure is my friend. I wrote this back in 1995 I think my wife and I both retired on Disability from the Public Service in 1997.
    Appreciate your review.

hi sankey, always got time for a fellow songwriter.

i have to say, its a bit too short and simplistic for me. all that's said is that the government is in the muck because they ran out of funds and you want the bureaucrats out. not really worth a song in my mind, unless you go deeper or edgier - why have the funds run out? who would replace the bureaucrats? who will come marching in to save the day? - without any punch, it all sounds a bit dated and innocent to me.
good luck with the writing.....P

Funny you are the singular person who has not enjoyed all the run of things. Thanks for whatever anyway. It is dated as I wrote it in 1995 I think before I left the Public service in 1997.
