This is the first time I have heard of or read a Petrarchan, it is lovely, Tom. You have demonstrated the way this style works with the words in this poem perfectly. Your theme is one that has never changed, nor will it while evil is allowed to exist. A pleasure to read and learn! xsx Sandra

    Thank you, Tom, I hope to be back a bit more now. My mother has been sent home from the hospital, there is nothing more they can do for her but she is happier at home. Our family will all be keeping an eye on her. xsx

Hi, Treischel,
This is an excellent example of a little used form. It has beautiful flow and rhyme, a complicated rhyme scheme which is followed consistently. For the true believer this is literal truth. For others is a metaphor for a common situation one earth where one is so jealous with rage and hate that it turns his mind into a living "hell". I liked this poem.

Wow. Wow. THATS how its done! Nice job here. The idea is stunning. Great contrast or turn. King of Kings inspired. Fantastic line. Souls, seek, great alliteration, my favorite line I think. Strong cadence realized in the entire piece. Everything flows perfectly. Your turn draws an eerie picture and warning. Your color choice is really nice as well, pulls the eye in and physically shows the contrast. I must say, I'm very impressed, though you never cease to amaze me friend. Thank you for the mention too! Ugh I'm kicking myself that I don't have a six. It is MORE than worthy. I'm not just saying that, this is brilliant.

Great contrast of the two; excellent presentation of the poem and showing the difference via color and formatting. Well composed Sonnet.

A well-penned Petrarchan Sonnet it is;
Great visual images: "Pure white garb radiantly attired" complement the bold illustration of heaven and hell;
The goodness of heaven in contrast to the horrors of hell are expressed in a powerful spiritual writing.

Dear Tom,
Loved the word choices and message behind this one - it has a deeper energy weaving through it. And that makes it an even more powerful post to ponder.
Great imagery, rhyme and rhyme.
Thanks for sharing it.
