    Brooke,
LOL Mine has been doing that since she was born. She is getting better about trying new foods which is great as we can't always have the three or four things I know she'll eat.
I wish the best on that one.
    Love,

Ladeez ... and gentlemen - here's to another gorgous RL Stevenson-esque piece from the Reigning rhymer herself ..!!!

Ooh, this is one of the sweetest pieces I've read in ages - another Victorian-style narrative for children from you, Brooke.

It brought to mind a poem I learned as a child .. :
"Augustus told such dreadful lies ... they made one gasp and stretch one's eyes" ..

Leander looted .... and I hooted! Fabulous name, Leander.

Aloha Brooke,
It sure does look like Sawyer is conjuring up something. I like your poem very much, so many good descriptions and the rhyming perfect as always. Thank you for sharing.

Fabulous! One of your best ever, IMHO. Love this one. And that photograph! Your daughter is really the most wonderful photographer. *When* you publish your book of children's poems, Brooke, you have to keep some of these photos alongside the poems. Not saying the poem doesn't stand perfectly fine on its own, but the pairing is something magic. That expression...
Every image is superb, fun to picture, and might encourage children to come up with their own ideas of what Leander could do.
Some good words to challenge children a little bit - pilfered and plucked. (Nice alliteration, as well!)
A gem!
My very best to you,
Sally

This is great! I love it! The evil eye, the picture, the cleverness, everything! What's not to love? WOW WOW WOW!!! I love the way you describe the ending, how it makes me think of a little boy throwing a tantrum because he's tired. OH GOSH. This is just beyond cool. You must try to send this out. Really, truly. I think it would get published in a heartbeat. It's too awesome not to share.

Wow. Great.

This is very funny to read through with all of your examples of this mythical young brat named Leander, and his return from the storm?

Boy, what a look. It says, "Wait till I get older, then we'll see,..., but I enjoyed the inspiration you took from that glance. Your piece spoke to me in another way, however, for Leanders' exist in this world that will steal your dreams, if you let them. I did like the ending, where mother finally puts her foot down before the destruction of the universe. He he. Thanks, Brooke, for sharing the fun and thoughtful write, Bill (by the way, I just took a stab at the apostrophe after Leanders. Let me know if I missed. I'm still looking forward to your next SPAG class, in the near future, best wishes, B)

Leanders exist - that would take no apostrophe -it's just a plural, not a possessive :-) Thank you so much, Bill :-) Just let me know when you want to take a SPAG class so I can list it for that time frame. Brooke

This is really a very well written entry for the Story in a Poem Contest. Leander - you portrayed him so well it was like something Roald Dahl would have written. Your syllable count is perfect and I can only say Good Luck in the contest. Regards Dorothy
