Well this just tickles my fancy to the max! And then some more!! I love it .. like really love it. Right from the look on the face (beautifully captured - reminds me of the times I used to say to my wee son, "Give Mum one of your mean looks - and he would. Bless his little soul! Twenty-eight years old now.)
I'd like to give this a eight star review, and I'd like to list my favourite line but every single one is! Maybe I choose the best of the best:
and when the clouds released their rain,
the water from their showers.
He grabbed the hop away from frogs,
he swiped the sour from pickles,
and if a baby tried to laugh,
he took away its tickles.
He pilfered spots from butterflies,
their wings now drab and dreary,
and plucked the silver from the stars,
but starlight was her limit,
I'm getting carried away. I told you I loved it!

So funny the picture and it goes so well along with the first two lines. This character Leander indeed was quite evil, until his mother had enough. Such a delightful story in a poem format. One of the bests I read for this contest. Original, well written and it flows well.

Yep, that is one evil look "don't cross me, cause I am the boss." What a bad Leander - the devil's son? A clever bit of story telling - I enjoyed this one. Good luck in the contest.

The thing is he is throwing it all, the veggies he doesn't like plus the watermelon chunks and beloved blueberries that are his favorite foods! LOL :-)

What a cute little poem about an "evil" Leander :D. I do believe I've met Leander in a previous poem and he wasn't a very nice guy there either! And love the photo of Sawyer with that gangster expression! Classic!! ;)

Once again another fun read. The mischievousness of children (especially boys) is obviously a fertile ground for a talented poet. The rhyme and rhythm are perfect and draw the reader along for the fun.
