I can see your Mum worked hard to retain her righteousness. I never understood why some men and/or women can't remain faithful. It's a mystery to me. This is another good post and a lesson for others.

Thanks Sis, Much appreciated. She was a dear old lady, my Mum. Gonna set to writing her Memoirs some day. ( Called Megoirs as she was known as Aunty Meg by a lot of Bible college students Sunday School and Missionaries.

Marriage is a sacred pact between a man and a woman. It is ordained by God and should never be subject to defilement from the beginning to the end. "What God has joined, let no may put asunder.

AMEn Bro Good one. Dear old dad wanted to re-marry Mum but he was still corrupt. I pray that my time you will read about later was fruitful and we will see him in Glory some day.

The title, 'Mum & Dad Reunited After 24 Years', grabs the reader's attention.
This is a GREAT READ!
Well-written.
Nicely polished.
I see ABSOLUTELY NO NEED for improvement.
I love the Bible scriptures.
That's a lovely portrait of your parents.
Thanks for sharing it.
Good luck with your future writing!

I like the invention of the word Megoirs. Your dad sounds a lot like my father in law, whose on his third wife and has had all kinds of affairs. Generational sin is one of the things broken when I do freedom appointments with clients. Good chapter!

I hope so too. My FIL has made no changes so far. He hasn't seen his son or daughter or grandkids in 7 years now.

Great chapter where you tell about your father, and how your parents got back together after long years of separation. I think it was good, in one way, to heal the wounds, but not so good in that your father never really changed. You are very honest and open about the situation.
Thanks for sharing,
Rhonda

I remember reading a chapter a few years ago about your trip to visit your father who, at that time, was living with Iris. So his reuniting with your Mum did not work out ideally, It sounds like the seeds of infidelity were in your father's father, your grandfather, if I read it correctly. As you probably know, there are such skeletons in most people's families.
Here I was, back with my Mum that had cared for me [" ... with my Mum WHO had cared for me ..." Generally, use "who" for animate "that" for inanimate.]
I am doing a collection of my Mum's "Megoirs," [... my Mum's MEMOIRS,"]
Good chapter, Geoff.

Megoirs was not an error that is what they will be called as she was known to a lot of people as Aunty Meg. Thaks for the Who or what stuff up. Appreciate you coming along. I still somehow have Mastery Muted Dean Kuch has given me an exercise to unmute him hehe. Ta mate. Glad you agree about as the bible says it ...the sins of the fathers shall go down into the Children and the children's children IT HAS HAPPENED IN OUR FAMILY. We recently had our 30th Anniversary and all our families are amazed that we are the longest married in all the families. Thanks buddy I might put a comment about Megoirs in the notes.
-
I think you already told me you put the "Megoirs" note in remarks. Good idea.

Only God knows our hearts and our minds and what we plan and think down deep. Her heart was one of pure forgiveness knowing she was in for hurt. Nicely told

Thanks friend appreciate your lovely understanding review. It may have been that this was God's way of bringing Dad to Himself as I said.

Your mother must have been a very forgiving woman to take your father back after his infidelities. It's happened with some of my relatives, too. It seemed like he was flaunting them, even. Your mother's missionary work must have been quite interesting. It sounds self-serving that he re-married your mother so he'd have someone to look after him in his old age. That's happened before, too. I don't know whether the tendency to go astray is a family trait. I wouldn't think it's necessarily the case. Very interesting presentation. judi

I ver interesting look into what must have been a series of traumatic experiences in your life.
Modern Perversions of the Bible
When each week it seemed like a new version of the Bible was popping up I decided to do some research. I heard about a book call Which Bible? It purported to settle the squabble.
I went to a Christian bookstore and asked if they carried Which Bible. The clerk looked at me in shock and said, This is a Christian store. We don't carry that filth here.
I said I think we have a misunderstanding.

I found your words to be heartfelt and there was angst here in your words because you had such love for your mother. We will never know what goes on between husband and wife and it is a private matter and when you love someone deeply all common sense goes out of the window. It is hard for you accept that your Mum took a man back who had treated her so badly and he hadn't changed, but in a way he came back to the one person he knew cared about him. I am sorry for your loss and we can search for answers and never find them, thank you for sharing such a private story, best of luck, love Dolly x

Thanks so much Dolly I appreciate your loving review. I look forward to sorting it all out in Glory hopefully with my dad. I was just glad I had that special time with him alone that day to share God's word with him. God said in Genesis that His word would not return void. There is more on this. Glad to have you along I will do my best to check out your stuff.
