Thank you for sharing this interesting story. I can imagine how you were uncertain about letting her in and glad that you were able to call someone who knew about her. Sounds like she was a very troubled teen.

Wow!!! This is where your writing skills definitely are put on
display. For, you have the ability to keep the attention of your
reader. For, when a stranger enters your world, God puts people
in one another's lives, so that one or both parties will learn something
very important. Nevertheless, this is a great write, that should educate
the youth with thought provoking information. Cause believe it or not,
I went through the same type of "Run-A-Way" situation, where my daughter
ran away from her mothers home. Anyway, thank you for sharing. Keep Writing. And Stay Connected.

Thank you so much for the end depth review and comments. I hope when your daughter ran away she was able to back home safely. The street can be a dangerous place for young people. You should write about her experience.

I remember you told this story in the other book. You gave different details here. It's scary. But how rude of those people to insist that you and your husband leave work in order to confirm about who could be in your locked house!
One typo:
"Well, come in an meet our kids. (and)

Thank you they are basically the same stories but with 10 years between the writing some of the details are different, I'm sure.

This was a great read. Very descriptive and entertaining. It makes me sad to think of the children out there that do this. Thank you for sharing with us. Many blessings to you and your loved ones.

Thank you Heather. I appreciate the review and comments. I find it sad as well. I never knew why she chose to run away.

Brilliant twist with the cat at the curtain--you got me! Sobering tale which thankfully didn't have a grisly ending. Well narrated as always. See you next time.

Thank you for the review. It wasn't a deliberate twist. That darn can made us both leave work early by picking the wrong moment to move the curtain. I was relived she wasn't in our our house.

This is one of the best chapters yet, and I enjoy them all. I only wish it wasn't so late in the week and I had a six to reward it properly. I left home at 15 with my saved up $147 and headed for Hollywood. It wasn't long before I was rolled up inside a plastic tarp freezing my butt off. But I never went back home to live. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. It sounds like you have a personal story to tell, if you haven't already. I would love to hear about your trip into the unknown, why you left and how you managed.

Oh, Beth, you sweetheart of a person, I can sum up my whole life in a sentence. I spent my whole life chasing all the things I thought were important, while missing out of all the things that truly should have been. Ric

Oh come on, I think you aren't giving yourself a fair shake. If you made it in this world on your own at fifteen you have to be strong person I know you are an excellent writer. Maybe you were educated in the school of hard knocks but you have a story to tell.

My family said I would come running home when my money ran out. But, I didn't come home until three-years later, for a one night visit, driving a new Mercedes, I purchased with legally earned cash. Of course, it only cost $15,000 at that time, but it was still a lot of money then. I got lucky and didn't have to spend much time on the streets or deal with too many hard knocks. And I found time to get a degree, after retiring. For no other reason than I wanted it. LOL. I have plenty of stories to tell, but most would be so wild and wacky that few would ever believe they could actually happen. I sure enjoy reading your story, and communicating with you takes the pleasure to a new level. Thanks for taking the time! Ric

That is amazing and I think all those stories should be in print, no matter how wild. It is very wild that a runaway kid could succeed so well in three years. My stories are very ordinary.

I was holding my breath when you invited the young girl into your home. I was suspicious too. But back then, I probably wouldn't have been. I'm glad she was returned home, both times, but hope her dad wasn't her reason for running away. Well told story. Thanks for sharing, Beth.

Thank you Judy. I hope her dad wasn't the reason either. He may have been have been overly harsh with her. He didn't seem very friendly. It is not easy to find our what goes on in other people homes. I appreciate your comments.

Oh what a tragedy and now so many things could happen to young girls who think they know exactly how to live on the streets alone without money. I am sure something was wrong since the Pastor didn't want you to continue talking, but it's so weird.

Hugs, Carol

Thank you Carol. I appreciate you comments. I wish I'd known more but I never found out. I think she might have has mental problems because she left without money, clothes of food and she was juvenile diabetic who didn't take any medicine with her either

I was immediately a bit worried about the father, I know how I would have felt. I loved my girls so much. If I was a parent of a runaway child, I would have been frantic. How fortunate to have found her wandering around in Kentucky, it would be so hard for a kid. Beautifully written Beth, blessings Roy
Typo : I'm going to (go) and fix her something.

Yes, I wondered about the father as well. I never found out the answer to that question. My sister-in-law knew the couple but not that well. Sadly the girl was a juvenile diabetic and I heard she died a couple of years later. It made me sad to learn about that..

Your story highlights the fact that running away doesn't solve anything most times, but it is true that young teenagers need a lot of persuading to reach this conclusion. There are a lot of questions remaining in your story from the way you have written it, like was the father really problematic? I think I would have altered things to smooth some of this out. The reader can't resolve these questions as things stand.

Thank you for the review and suggestions. I had questions as well but I never learned any more about her. If I was writing a novel, I would told more, but I supposed I didn't have to mention that I wondered if she had left because of him. I suspect he might have tough on her but hopefully nothing sexual was going on.
