Isnt it amazing the things and tradition and even the uglies that we pass down from generation to generation and then learn where it started.lol
God works his wonders and even when we realize He interveined, we still don't recoginize it.
Nicely told

Enjoyed this again tremendously. You bring in the human side of the men of clothe, not the church side.
BTW just a wee correction, unless you meant for the paragraphs to re main "attached", you need to separate these:

For about the first three years of our marriage, at least; Louise's parents were very 'clingy' and insisted on coming out to visit us frequently. As our pastor expressed it...
"They haven't had 'the leaving!' " As in Matthew 19:5(KJV) "...for this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh." I can't get used to the idea that parents, in a lot of cases, seem to always think of their children, even as grown men and women, as still their "liddle bybies!" (Slang expression deliberate.)

Thanks very much new friend will have a look later. Seems it could do with some splitting up. I have been learning to make new lines for conversation bits. Cheers.

To modify a saying, "You can choose your friends, but not your family." One should question where in-laws fit in. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words.

A good chapter. Oh my gosh! I can't believe they put kerosene on your leg. I hope no one lit a match near you! I'm sure the Rum probably helped you rest and the honey was soothing. Your in laws sound a lot like mine. If that's the case, the devil is definitely at work in them!

AMEN or Oh me! Sis. Dear old Nanna, she was a lovely old thing we hope to see her in Glory but whatever. You understand why I say inlaws and Outlaws hehe. Thanks for the great review. Some are getting bored with my biography. I have enough that are enjoying my sharing so I just told them to skip my Biography if it bores them. They have been helpful and I have applied the helps but after that well too bad.

A very interesting take on your family Geoff, at least you knew something of your grandparents, because we left two remaining grands of, maternal and paternal grandmothers in England, migrating to Oz, the paternal one passed away when I was only about ten, my maternal one passed just before my family's visit in 1994! Sad! Enjoyed your family journey, Geoff, well done, blessings, Roy
Typo : bring my brother(,) and me, up to Queensland to live. 2: as spoken (my) old Mrs. Harris.

Parents and in-laws, I have never done well with either. It seems to be a problem with many people. So I don't feel alone in this area. It is good that you and Louise understand the relationship with your/and her family and don't let it upset you.

Nope, we just had a 3-month break from her folks...it was delightful, but they were back again a couple of weeks ago. They miss out this w/e as Louise was at a function, yesterday and I think they are busy themselves today. Yippee! Thanks for a great review.

A very well-written chapter. As a child we cannot understand why a parent leaves children to go their own way. When we grow we understand better and accept what happened easier.

I can see the comparison of Moses and your father. LOL It was a great start to this post. You are doing a good job writing your story. You have a lot to share.

I see I have reviewed this before. No errors detected here. Over-baring inlaws are a major pain. I had some in my younger days so I try to avoid being one to my adult children and their spouses.

Good onya Mum. And now they Inlaws) are in their 80's or approaching and stating to forget stuff and forget instructions as to whom to give or NOT to give out our PRTIVATE phone number! Louise got a call from an unwanted old contact. Wasn't an old boyfriend but had all sorts of problems and a very obsessive type. Thanks again.

Guess who? I'm back. I found only a couple of Run-On sentences in this chapter. I found the read very pleasant. I am interested in peoples Genealogy. The world is made of such fascinating creatures. Families seems to have their differences which define us all. In-laws can be Out-laws in our lives. I loved my in-laws more than my own mother and father sometimes. It was my pleasure to be able to rate this chapter with five stars. Looking forward to more.

Thanks Deb if I may call you that? I really appreciate your time. I should put a not as another writer has done reminding folks it is good to go back and start from the beginning. I am glad you are coming along now as I recently re organized the chapters for more correctness in the sequence and time frame of when things happened. I appreciate all the help from recviewers. Thanks again.

Hi Deb I just went through abnd did another clean up. Someone elsewhere complained at all my edits but then others say it never hurts to go back and clean up if you think it is needed. Let me know what you think of the fresh arrangement.
