When your brakes fail, put your foot out the door and pray like you never had before. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.

Hello,
I write in British English, but find that most reviewers here are american. I have Australian friends.
The accident was indeed a terrible experience and you had to go through an unfair situation.
I can see that you have talent to write non-fiction that is compelling, and this has the makings for a strong story.

Thanks very much have not met you before I don't think. I do promise to look for your stuff. I believe in reciprocation, all of us helping each other. Yes, most are American but now I cover myself and tell them British English ha. Stupid Grammarly even when set on British English still stuffs up on programme, realize, organize and so on. I don't trust FS Spell- checker and even Word does not do it properly!./ I used to get top marks in English at school, so it drives me nuts. Hope to see you around.
reply by XGoneX on 26-Apr-2017
Yes, Fanstory spell-checker is american. People here used to tell me I had spags and incorrect words. Nah, it was just British.
How very kind of you. If you're too busy, it's not necessary. I have insomnia and also deal with a few demons sometimes, so Fanstory posts are a nice distraction :)

When I hear stories like these, I just shake my head and think, "It takes all kinds" and the world seems to have all kinds to challenge us with. Interesting stories, my friend~Debbie

This reminds me of so many heartbreaks I have experienced in church affiliations through-out the years. By moving around a lot and attending in different regions, states, and faiths there is always a pattern; A certain few see themselves a God's mighty "control all", self appointed generals.

Then there are those who think they are God's direct voice to your spirituality. Then there are others who believe their big offerings buy them power. I see these all as pharisees, and Jesus gave us plenty of examples of them being alive and active in his day as well.

The worst cruelty I've ever witness is that surrounding church fights and splits. It must grieve the Lord.

Thanksa I noticed an other review as I was leaving the last one you did still going in order huh! I think we are on the same page about church politics for sure. God has blessed us as we have given. We have seen the "devourer" rebuked on a number of occasions. Out pastor atm has just been diagnosed with some sort of lung problem but he insists on keeping going with knee troubls and so on he left it too late to get someone in to come and help. He should have retire3d about 10 years ago he wqas great up untiol that time. He will be 65 end of May.

I'm sure documenting this stuff is a healing journey for you, Geoff. It's also such a reminder of the ugliness in an institution that is supposedly the Bride of Christ and called to be a safe haven and a place where people can find healing, hope and the Master.

I hope this harassment sorts itself out. It really upsets me when the body of Christs is dysfunctional.

Have a lovely week. Hope you had a blessed Easter.

God bless you, friend. :)

hi Sis, glad you have come along again appreciate you very much. Actually things are not too bad still no love in the place though. having trouble with my blood Sister atm. She is 73 in may and she has rejected me and Louise for some strange reason. She was always a controller type. Long story for an9other time. She is definitely not one of the flock.
reply by Selina Stambi on 21-Apr-2014
Shall I put her on my prayer list?
reply by the author on 21-Apr-2014
SHe certainly needs our prayers. She supposedly made a profession of faith as a 12 years old. Mum always maintained she (Deanne is her name)was saved but Sis you cannot live the way she has and be in Christ. people say we can't judge however the scriptures say "By their fruits ye shall know them!" If our lives are not a testimony to His Grace it speaks volumes. Thanks for the prayers and the spags will look at that chapter.
reply by Selina Stambi on 21-Apr-2014
Deanne - I'll put her on my daily list. Not by might, nor by power .... :)
reply by the author on 21-Apr-2014
AMEn Sis as you will haqve read we prayed for my Dad for salvation for 40 years and he came to Christ 3 weeks before he died. So even if Deanne calls out to God to save her in that kind of frame then praise God. SHe has heard the gospel at both our folks funerals so as scripture also says "they are without excuse".
God Bless getting ready to fix the spags...having fun with the new printer :(

Hey can never understand how we miss all these. I appreciate your love and patience my friend. all fixed now. God Bless

Ulow Mate'

Interesting stuff going on in your life. What I got out of your ramblings is that Australian Pastors are not too much different than us American Pastors.

We preach Brotherly love to our congregations, but practice the very opposite among ourselves. We encourage making a joyful noise unto the Lord, but not around me; we preach the fruit of the Spirit, which as you know ends with "temperance" (self control) but when someone crosses us, "temperance" is spelled "temper"

Anyway "There is none righteous no not one" so there y go.

Your Friend and fellow Pastor,
Jerry

I respect that you are an accomplished author. I hope as a fellow reviewer you will understand my review of this chapter. Next, let me tell you, my daddy was a preacher. I understand this chapter more than some may. For example: I am very familiar with those preacher that should stick to singing. Now for the criticism. I don't think you used spell-check fully. You spelled plleased, for pleased. The following sentence was a bad Run-On sentence. The sentence that started with, "I had been prepared to pay" was a Run-On sentence. Another spelling error was the words you wrote noone for no one and wrote sdtill for still. Spell-check should have caught these. However, it's hard to review professionals or fellow reviewers. But, when I find such clear errors, I regret having even seen the errors at all. Because, I enjoyed reading this chapter very much. I was able to read it through a preachers daughter eyes and really knowing how politics happen even in churches. I've not read any of your other chapters. As reading goes, I do want to read more of your story. When I get the time, I may just do that thing. Keep on pumping out our interesting stories but, please in 6 edits, you should have seen what I did. I like your story. That's why I hate that I had to point out the errors. Please understand.

Hi Deb is it? Thanks for the spag pick ups. We are not professionals here and I hope if I correct you will return. I had done some additions and that is why I put this up again. It would be nice if you would go back and read from the start, if you have time. Thanks again.

Excellent topic for a story, a bit choppy, but it is only a draft as yet. A noticeable variation in aussie and american lingo. Not a real problem, unless your intended audience is american. Good, enjoyed it.

Hi appreciate you visit. This was a re run of stuff done a long time ago. I have almost finished this book on my life. I suggest you might like to go back and start at the beginning only if you want and have time.
reply by the author on 18-Apr-2014
have just been through and done a spell check and so surprised after all this time the errors that were missedf in the past. I have not separated sentences and stuff as yet but if you care to look again allowing for differences in spelling in Australia to America I would appreciate it.

"Pastor Peter" comes down the stairs to me, came.
'and that I should defer to his "Authority!" defer?
(even thought they have not been at our church for a long time) though.
'I just said well if you had done it for 16 years in this church or altogether for a lot longer you will get better at it.' Would. Hope this helps. Yes, some people...

I missed this chapter altogether. and here we are fellow musicians. piano since I was 5 years old, decades of guitar, woodwinds that would be a shame to hear and a little of anything else I can get my hands on. now the funny thing is. playing the piano is no guarantee one can play the organ. and I can't. the hands can. but, these poor feet don't have a bit of music in them. so, no pedals thank you very much. no drum sets, the snare will do just fine. well, back to the story. this chapter is just a great deal of fun with all the intrigue with the pastor and his snooty wife. hahaha. can sing but can't preach. that must have caused some discomfort having perfect pitch. every church has some eager folk that mean oh so well but, sing oh so bad. oh dear! nails on a chalkboard. my church has an old soprano that would turn your hair a different shade of grey. but she is so dear that no one says a word. I think of you saying "way out of their range" ha! music is out of her range. I certainly wouldn't mind a bit if you added more of this to the book. very entertaining. and I think your readers would all be put in mind of their own stories and memories as I have been. glad I went back and checked and found I missed this chapter. a good one. mike

This is even better now. One of my favorite chapters, of course, as a fellow musician. That perfect pitch is a blessing and a curse, I know. Church folk can be some of the best folk and sadly some of the worst too! We have one of those sopranos at church that could cut through lead. Hahaha. What can you do? She's so proud of it too. Hahaha. This is tight as can be now. Anything you want to add to this is always a plus as far as I'm concerned. mikey

Hi mate glad you got to it. About to get a second part to the Inlaws and outlaws up real soon...hopefully bedfoer I go to bed tonight in about 5 hours from now.
Loved the 'nails on a chalkboard' I really liked it when Whoopi Goldburg did that on Sister Act 2!! SA 2 was heaps better than SA 1 I reckon. OK good hearing from you and thanks so much I managed to get one of my own church friends to join up on FS and she is now a great reviewer of my work. Cheers.
