I really enjoyed reading this. I live near the sea myself and I do appreciate your sentiments. This is extremely well-written, and I love the artwork you chose. The ending was a surprise, but very understandable just the same. :) Sandra

It's a nice picture painted in your words of the summer disappearing along with the tourists who visit the area each and every year. I see how it must be for the local people who live there. As if having a house full of company all summer who finally leave you with your own home when their visit is over. Home Sweet Home, I am sure. It was good to leave the point made until the end when it is revealed that you haven't been to the beach since the tourists came and that you are a local enjoying the end of the season. Nicely written and enjoyable to read.

I've been one of those tourists four or five times over, so let me say thank you for lending your beautiful beach to me for a week.
I can imagine how having that many tourists take over would be frustrating. (I feel the same way about college students here. Traffic triples. Ugh.)

Really beautiful description of life in a tourist resort. My family live in the Lake District in the UK, a very popular area for holiday-makers and similar in that when the season is over, the locals can reclaim their home. Great last line too. Best wishes, Pete :)

This reminds me of where my daughter goes to the beach in Florida, There are not to many people there. my uncle owns a beach house in St.Petersburg on the water. And It's all private. Never a lot of people there. I don't like going with to many people..Not sure why, but I like it being private..Story very well told. And I love the picture. Luff Linda xxoo
