I didn't get my license until I was 22, late bloomer and bought my first car when I was 25. It was much larger than your first car which would have been better for me. Interesting information on Australian driving laws. It was much easier to get a and afford a car back in the good old days, not like you. Thanks for adding this to your book. I found it very interesting.

Thanks, friend for coming through.I was doing a final edit for publishing and the Revive Certificate showed up so had to grab it. More on the Triumphs in Chapter 15 if you missed it.

Reminds me of my younger days of learning to drive. It was a great event. Your tale has a very good pace and you do show- not tell.
The story was an easy read and had this reader wanting to learn more about your Triumphs.

Thanks very much. Not sure if we have met before. I was on the verge of closing up on this book for publishing but as I do my final edit I came across a Revive Certificate so I thought why not. Will check your stuff out soon. Cheers.

Triumph Herald -- Unfortunately, I do not need to watch a TV programme to remember these. I seem to recall they had a nice tight turning circle. I'm not sure that was really relevant on Australian roads, though.

OK thanks for the heads up. I loved the little Triumph Herald. I could probably write a lot more about it. Top car for a new driver. I went from these to a Mazda 1300 in 1973..I write about that later. The difference in the four on the floor gear changing was enormous. A lot closer in the Mazda.

Some lovely old cars there. It sounds as if you're quite fond of these little Triumphs. They don't make cars like that these days, more's the pity. Mind you, I'd have trouble getting in and out of one now! Interesting anecdotes about your early days of driving.

It sounds like your love affair with Triumphs echoes the one I have with Mustangs. I've owned 7 since I got my license - 1968, 1965, 1996, 1997, 2006, 2008, and back to the 2006. My adventures would make for a jolly story. Thank you for sharing your adventures.

It sounds like your love affair with Triumphs echoes the one I have with Mustangs. I've owned 7 since I got my license - 1968, 1965, 1996, 1997, 2006, 2008, and back to the 2006. My adventures would make for a jolly story. Thank you for sharing your adventures.

Thanks patty, the little Triumph Herald was so easy to drive. As you would have read my brother got my first one for me and got it registered as it turned out the day I first got my license..I think I still remember that was September the 8th, 1970. Appreciate you coming along. Hope we can check each other out. I think you are a new friend. Sorry I think former chapters have not rewards left now.

Interesting account of an adventurous spirit and accommodation aspects. A bit frustrated that the trips are listed point by point with only a little bit of info on each. It leaves the reader feeling very inquisitive and wanting to find out more of what went on with those trips, especially at the Haddon Rig sheep farm! Speaking of train trips, I recently picked up a book called "The Railway Man" by Eric Lomax. It has been recently made into a movie after becoming a best seller. Anyway, I found it at my husband's workplace and had a rare hour at my leisure to do a bit of reading. It reminded me a lot of your memoir as he begins to record his life from childhood in vivid detail. I think it would be worth your while having a look at it to see how he has set things out and keeps things flowing from chapter to chapter, building up to a climax. I think, rather than just rendering a point by point summary of his life, he has a story to tell, and weaves certain aspects of his life into an exciting account to achieve a thought provoking message to the reader.
Perhaps that could be the next step for you, after working on your memoir, to turn it into a best seller, focusing on the points that would make an interesting story and expanding them to show people what really makes you who you are and why you have a special place in this world. Now all I need is another spare hour to read some more of that book. At least I finally found some time for yours today :)

Hi Erin good hearing from you. As a matter of fact I am as we speak working on re sorting all the stuff into sequence of when they happened. I am glad you have come through here but hang around as big changes are still in the wind. Today I am going through and getting each chapter's content and re copying for re-posting into correct time span and I am adding to it all as well. I appreciate your comments and I would like to look for that book you mentioned thanks. Can't remember if you have seen a certain fellow on FB I think your Dad might have him as a friend will PM you later..he has given me a ton of old Christian books including old Sankey Word copy Hymnals (about 100 of those) We are going to give them to Salvos as we don't really need them. Also gave me a ton of Spurgeon's Sermons as well. Dunno whjere I get the tie to read all these. Thanks again. I like all you have said in here. If you hang around a bit or do something else you might find some chapters chaging and expanding in a bit. Doing a lot 0of the re working on Word and not re-posting just yet. There will be rewards once it is all done too if you like those.

One of my short stories about a particular school experience might give you a chuckle. Its title is. " There Was No Reason For Optimism " in the book entitled "Living in Rhyme" (ch 39)

Look for Geoffrey Moore who attended Ryde High School in Australia. I have re edited the first work chapter and you were right I have even created more paragraphs and done another edit with some changes.

This is another interesting chapter to add to the collection that the author has created with this piece of writing. I travelled around Australia myself when I went out there in 1998. It was one of the best holidays of my life. I was visiting friends who went there on a gap-year. I only had three weeks and wished I had longer. It broke my heart to leave.
