Thank you for sharing.

This time of year, it is so hard for some to feel thankful.

Sharing your faith helps to strengthen it in others.

So easy to see why this was a contest winner!
I regret I've run out is sixes, Yelena....for surely this is worthy in execution and theme!
An "Amazing Grace" of a sonnet!

A worthy contest winner and I enjoyed your fine spiritual sonnet, perfectly rhymed and metered and a joy to read. A faithful and spiritual poem to lift any heart, much enjoyed and worthy of a six, my last one of the week! Love Dolly x

This is so beautiful and filled with praise and trust in God. I feel the same.

A Sonnet is so difficult for me. I wrote a Petrarchan Sonnet once for a contest and my brain about caught fire. You made it look so effortless. Please accept my virtual six with compliments.
Sending you my best today for this marvelous piece,
Sal XOs...

A very nice sonnet. You are talking to God in the first three stanzas, then you ask him to guide you through life. "... life's crusade" is a very nice term.

It reminds of a song, but I can only remember the fist line, "You are the air that I breath, lover of my soul..." but you've written a most articulate expression of that narrative, and given it verbal wings to fly, this is so beautifully written dear friend, a great way of expressing the love for God, and the return of His love for us. Excellent sonnet, well done. Blessings Roy

Very cool. Every day a person should wake up and just say, "Your will not mine for today, God." - that would make a huge difference in a person's life, I think, anyway. Thanks for this one.

I can see why this won, Yelena; it puts strong feeling there for the reader to share. I truly liked the use of "fun" - too many supposedly spiritual works don't dare go there, for fear they might not have the right penitential focus, but while God loves a broken and contrite heart, He also loves praises and gratitude.

Thank you, Joel. I use acrobatics in my poems - I throw words in the air without fear, and see them do tumbles, swirls, collide with each other. Using "fun" was brave in a religious poem, but don't forget - church was separated from the state during Russian revolution of 1917. That means, we were all deprived of religion for decades. I think I am doing pretty good under the circumstances (lol)
