I must rate this now that I have read it and I admit shamefully that I did it for the money. I think what we have here is a good example of the wrong expectations. As for the rest, things happen and most don't do so bad. Like this author with this little piece of silly philosophy.

This piece is a bit better than most of the other pieces I have read form you, but you still have some syntax problems in this article. It also needs to be a bit more fleshed out to bring the body of thought within the title. I really found it a stretch to connect the two. The only way to get better is with practice. So keep on writing, but make sure you take advice from the reviewers on this site. After all, we are all here to learn and polish out craft... John

You know... I read this and it really hit home for me. It felt like parental advise and trying to drive the point home that we don't always have control over destiny. However, if you want to make God chuckle, just tell him your plans. Maybe I'm reading more into it than I should but I enjoyed this piece and felt like it was good advise... for anyone! There are just a few errors that make it difficult to read sometimes.

You might want to take a look at the line 'still we make mistake(s)

Good job!

This is quaint and entertaining, and quite presumptuous. Fertilizer can be quite useful in the wrong hands.
I truly enjoyed this well written neither-non.

"We are such stuff as dreams are made of; and our little lives are rounded with a sleep." That sums up our lives. So what are our dreams and what are our thoughts and how do they fit into reality, our own realities. The culprit is our mischievous little minds. In face of all this, why do we covet money. Money is not a childhood wish. It covers for our mediocracy. It covers for our lack. It is never satisfactory. -Ekim777

Quite introspective as usual from you. I understand what you mean, indeed, most of the times, things don't happen as expected, but I believe if we believe and act, fight, things will happen. Things just won't happen where your dreams and action cannot reach.

Your writing speaks vividly of the dreams and expectations of young people just starting out. What happens when expectations aren't met? It depends on the general outlook of the person.

Totally believable. Not sure if it's fiction or non-fiction, but can really see how this rural person in the small village could imagine being wealthy with this dowry. Interesting and well written.

Hi Al,

This is your best piece so far. I understood it and agree with you.

I smiled at the fertilizer and all the other village-is references.

Great thoughts you've provoked. Makes one think, ponder.

Good work, my friend.

I admire your persistence. :)

The following scriptures came to mind while reading your post.

Isaiah 55
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Mark 2
19 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.

Joel 2
28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Revelations 22
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
